I just found this thread, sorry I wasn't on WISH since friday, I feel bad for missing it until now. You know you have my support, wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery. And of course you can count your surgery for your clippie!!!! ONEderland, is just around the corner, I KNOW it!!!

Jody, I had a "total" hysterectomy 3 years ago in October. Total to me means everything, ovaries, too. I went on HRT (estrogen only) and found that I was gaining weight, slowly but surely. Because of health concerns with HRT, I had to stop taking them in December. I have a history of stroke (yes, stroke, I had one when I was 22) and the HRT was causing migraines. Now I have been able to lose weight, albiet not as quickly as some on Atkins, but I am able to lose it. I was back to work 2 weeks after the operations, I never felt bad, I never used any pain killer except regular tylenol the first 2 days. I wish I had done it sooner, I had so many problems with Endo and fibroids which the dr didn't know about till after the surgery.

Anyway, I hope you heal as quickly as I did, and get on your feet and back into the swing of things fast.

Thank you SO MUCH to EVERYONE for your support --- it means alot to me.

I have my pre-op appt with my gyn/surgeon this morning then it is down hill from there! Friday will be here before I know it. I have my bags packed. My mother treated me to some new nighties, and I picked up some new slippers too. I am trying to get as much done as I can --- but it will NEVER all be done the way I want --- oh well.

I just had my pre-op appointment with my gyn/surgeon. She told me that she knows that I won't feel like eating much for the first couple days after surgery BUT after that time -- she would like to see me eat a HIGH PROTEIN diet! Imagine my happiness! I told her that I am already eating low carb -- and she said that I will be one step ahead of things.

I was thrilled that not only is she 'okay' with this way of eating but she actually is recommending it!
