So, do I get to count having body parts surgically removed in my weight loss banner?;) I WILL claim it -- as I know this problem is what has been keeping me from losing like I should have been by now.

I go in for a Total Hysterectomy on Friday July 18th. I am planning to keep my ovaries as I am only 41 years old. I have VERY LARGE fibroids --- and they've developed and grown signifigantly over the past year or two -- which has my gynocologist concerned that something more could have developed.

I had my bloodwork, EKG, and chest xrays this afternoon as well as a consultation with the anesthesiologist. Next week is a meeting with my gynocologist for pre-op talk.

Jody...I have kept you in my prayers!!!! I am positive that everything is going to work out for the best...you have been down such a difficult road...and now you are going to get better!!!!

 Oh, Jody! I'm sending oodles of prayers and buckets of pixie dust for a speedy and comfortable recovery. Heck, maybe you'll get to have 2 clippies at once ;) . Take care, get lots of rest and you'll be :bounce: ing with the rest of us before you know it!

Best of luck in the coming weeks, Jody! :)

And of COURSE you can count this in your weight loss. Anyone who has to go through surgery should gain SOME kind of benefit! :)

Sending prayers for you and your doctor. Also wishing you a speedy recovery!

Lois

Jody, you sure go to drastic measures to get that next clippie!

Seriously, I'll be thinking of you. I'm sure you'll be your normal, sassy self again in no time, and feeling so much better.

You know where to come if you need some cheering up when you're tired and cranky after surgery- you've got TONS of WISH buddies right here, cheering you on. :D

Oh, Jody!

You have such strength - I am so proud of you for facing this with such a wonderful attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep that part up and you will pull through this whole situation with flying colors!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so happy that you are willing to share this with us, we will do our best to support you as much as we can.

You are a very courageous and strong woman! Sending you loads of hugs and happy thoughts!!!!! Hang in there!

Love, TigH. xo

Of course weight lost after surgery counts!! BUT - it may not show up right away. They pump you so full of IV fluid that it can take days to lose the water weight.

I am also having some surgery soon - I've been thinking about whether they can provide an Atkins diet once I start eating again - I want to stay with the plan because I feel so good on it!

Best of luck to you!

I will be thinking about you and praying for you as you go through this!!!

I will be praying for you - hope all goes well.
Will you have access to a computer when you get home (laptop?) so that you can spend your long boring convalescence here on DIS, it would certainly pass the time quicker!

Sue

Jody - I'm sending you lots of {{{hugs}}}

Please please please remember that when they say rest, for ever how long it is meant to be, they mean it no matter how fit you feel OK? It's very very important that you well and truly rest after this op and we'll be here to help while away the boredom.

Jodi ~

Good luck ~ Hope everything turns out well.

Thanks so much for ALL of the kind words, prayers, and support. They will help me get thru the next week. I still have so much to do that I'm sure the week will go fast.

No, I don't have a laptop BUT you can bet that as soon as I am able to sit for a few minutes at a time I will be DISing again.
;)

Also wanted to share that this mornings weigh in had me at 208. One more pound in the next week and I will earn my 15 pound WISH clipart before I go for surgery. That would be a very happy moment. Who knows --- maybe the surgery will get me to the point that I've been dreaming about for the past year ---

ONDERland!
:teeth:

Jody-I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a good surgery and a quick recovery.

Jody--Sending you positive thoughts, energy and prayers along with much PD. Keep up your great attitude. You will do it!
I know you will be back with us during your recovery. Make sure you listen and take the running around slowly, you don't want to push yourself until it's time.
