Hi everyone! Just came back from 5 days ( minus two days travel time, so really 3 full days ) at DLR and DCA and it was the best time ever! Our first time back in five years, so we experienced a lot of "new" stuff!
We arrived on Easter Monday. We are early risers and like to go in first thing in the morning. Barely any crowds that time of the day, so highly recommend to go early! My kids rode on Hyper space mountain twice within 20 minutes. Crowds were very heavy by 11:00 am. It was definitely wall to wall walking.
Star Wars in Fantasyland not to be missed! Glad they got rid of Captain EO show and replaced it with " Path of the Jedi". Also added the Star Wars Lauchpad! A great place to look at Star Wars props and toys. We didn't know what was in there until we came across the meet and great with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren!
Carsland was new to us and we were very impressed. We were prepared for the Radiators Springs crowds and got our fast passes. Also rode California Screamin twice within 20 minutes in our early morning route.
Of course, after our 7th trip to DLR, we have never tried a Dole Whip. Thanks to all the Dis Boards tips, I read the best place to line up was inside the entrance to the Tiki Room. WAY shorter than the one facing the main walk!
Paint the Night Parade shouldn't be missed! We didn't bother "saving" a spot to view the parade, so we just wondered around and eventually we found a great view. Tip-when exiting the park after the parade, the best place to bypass Main Street crowds is to go to the back entrance before Main Street. Disney staff opens the doors the back area ( behind the shops ) so you can walk along the path towards the train station within 3 minutes!
It was a bit chilly. Didn't expect that. It was sunny on most days but the wind still gave us the chills. Definitely pants and a fleece/ soft jacket is recommended. Downside, the fireworks were cancelled three days we were there due to high winds.
We stayed the Park Vue Inn. It's was fine. Directly across the street. It was clean and convenient and comes with free breakfast! I mean, Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, cereals, toast, fruit, yogurt and free wifi. We ate lunch once in Tomorrowland. We timed it well. Grabbed our food from Pizza Port ( I love their salads ) and watched the Jedi Training in the food court area. What a treat to watch Kylo Ren and Darth Vader! We also ate lunch at Earl of Sandwich in downtown Disney. Our favorite sandwich place. We also tried the newly opened Panera Bread ( by Millie's ). We don't have them in Canada, so it was our " must do " thingy.
Overall, just go early when the doors open and make use of the fast passes.

OP, they have Panera in Canada. Toronto for sure has it! I LOVE their soups in a bread bowl.

Thanks for the review - sounds like you had a great trip! We will be there in a week...

Also from Alberta, also planning to hit up Panera - none out west here yet!

I'll be there next week! Luckily we're staying at the Disneyland Hotel so we'll have early entry. Your post makes me hopeful that we'll be able to have a fairly relaxing morning. Thanks for the tips!
