I was on the way home and there is a 4 lane hwy that is very busy on the way home. Well there were 3 teenaged girls walking on the yellow lines in the middle of all of this traffic. And as if that wasn't enough they decide to shove one of the girls in front of my car. There were several more cars on the highway everyone was blowing their horns and dodging these kids. Anyway I called the Police Dept and they had an office in route already the dispatcher said they had at least 5 other complaints. I know I did some pretty stupid things but the thought never crossed their minds that they could have been killed. And then the person who had hit them would have to live the rest of their lives knowing that they had killed someone. Thank goodness nothing happened but what were they thinking? :confused3

:confused3 maybe they were high? :confused3 I am glad you avoided them!

That's just it they were not thinking. Good that you called the police, you might have saved their lives tonight.

That thought crossed my mind as well. They were just cracking up laughing at all the cars honking at them. My DD's best not pull a stunt like that. :furious:

As said before my guess is they were drunk/high or just plain stupid

Same thing happened to me. It was just one girl but she was high as a kite and gave me a "gesture" when I offered help.

We had a teenage girl get drunk and decide that she needed to go potty. Well, it was the middle of the night and she was peeing in the fast lane of a 4 lane highway. She was hit and drug by several cars and killed. It has been very traumatic for all involved. The drivers will have to live with it for the rest of their lives, and her parents will always have to wonder what possessed her to do something so stupid!

I have called the police here and it doesn't help. They don't want to deal with the problem. The street I go down to get DD has the High School, Middle School and one grade school straight down it. There is another grade school just to the northeast of this also. You have every age walking down the street. For several blocks there is no sidewalk so they walk in the street. When there is finally sidewalk they stay in the street. Most walk in packs side by side, never single file or 2 at a time. I have watched them make cars come to a complete stop and harass and intimdate the drivers. They will step out into the paths of oncoming cars. There is a house where many teens hang out and they play tag across the street sometimes. There are 2 grade schoolers who never ever look before they dart out. They do it in the middle of the block so not everyone is expecting them to cross there. The little girl kept motioning me to go the other day. I had come to a complete stop since she was in the midle of the street. She wanted me to go first, but I wasn't budging until she crossed.
I will say about 2 weeks after I called one time I actually saw a cop talking to a pack of the teens. The next week they were back in the street blocking cars. The teens make me the angriest. I always tell my kids I better never ever see them do this. They will be grounded for a long time if they do.
I honestly think the kids here get a kick out of doing it. It empowers them to make cars have to stop for them. I made the remark that I may or may not get a ticket if I were to hit one, but it will be hard for them to feel victorious from a hospital bed.
