I just got off the phone with SOG and this is what they said. With my 2 daughters having ID cards they can take me as a guest.
I am divorces from there father and he is active duty.
You need to book one year to the date you are planning on going. So with us going Sept 19 next year we have to call Sept 19 this year.
I asked the lady about getting around like going to Univ and SeaWorld and she told me that I don't have to rent a car that SOG has there own bus and they would take us there, we just need to make arrangment at the front deck 24 hours before we want to go. There is a small fee for this. There and back.
I am so happy I don't have to rent a car. When we arrive to MCO we are using Happy Limo to SOG and back to MCO. I have also set up that Happy Limo to give my 2 daughters roses when we arrive. And I will also be doing a food stop. All I have to do is fax happy limo and the store and pay for it credit card and when I get to the store they will have all my stuff ready.
The bottom lines is I have never stayed at SOG this will be our first time and what I have read and the phone call I have made I am very happy with SOG and will be staying more to come that is if my daughters still have there ID cards.
I hope this will help someone that will be going to SOG for the first time. OHHHH I forgot. When you book your SOG vacation you can not get your park tickets at the same time. You have to wait until you get to SOG and they will want to see ID cards then that is when you buy your tickets. I am getting a 4 day pass to all 4 theme parks, one day for seaworld and one day for Univ. studo's and it will cost us about 800.00 all that.
Also when you book SOG ask about the gold leaf package. This package will give you and your family free Breakfast and Dinner for every day you stay at the SOG. But the only problem with that is you have to eat at the SOG and they have 4 rest. in the hotal.
I thought this would be good for us. Because we are not early people in the morning so if we eat breakfast before 11am we are good, to the the park of our choice for the day, At about 6 or 7pm we go back to the SOG and eat supper and then do homework or take a swim for the evening time.
I hope this will help out for those staying at SOG for the first time.

Thanks for the info! We are planning to stay at SoG next month. Does booking one year in advance pertain to the vacation packages only? Or all reservations? I can't make reservations yet because DH's leave is still going through the red tape for approval. So I don't want to make reservations yet. When I called to check rates for the week we're going last month, they didn't seem to have a problem with this.

you can make your reservations for sog one year inadvance. for anything. But you will have to ask about packages like the gold leaf package.

You don't necessarily have to make a reservation a year in advanced. If you decide at the last minute or are a late planner fro trips SOG usually will have rooms. If by some chance SOG is full make sure to ask about either a stand by list or the option of gatting a room at one of the other Disney resorts at a cut rate. The SOG people don't always divulge thsi information but asking never hurts and usually helps.

I do know that they will not switch a resort unless they are full since the renovations but if there is a resort you would like to go to instead of SOG like Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Ask if there is a list in case the opportunity arrises to switch from SOG to another resort. THe cost is usually alot lower than the regular rates.
