::MickeyMo Hey all! Just thought I'd share. I called Disney and told them when we'd be there (May 11-21) and asked if she noticed a ressie increase. She said there's about a 5% increase from last year. Then I asked how it would affect the crowds. She said she didn't think it would affect them much, if at all because she believes since this new MYW, more people are staying on property rather than off. So, she believes it's just more ressies, not necessarily more people. I hope she's right! ::MinnieMo

Thanks for the update. We will be there May 11th-May16th. I hope she is right too. FYI I just checked the 15 day forcast, and (crossing fingers) if it is right from May 11th - May 18th they are calling for SUN SUN SUN!!!!!

That was my gut instinct (that they are staying on property vs off). We'll know soon though! :)

This crowd prediction stuff is driving me nuts! :bitelip: One thread says it's going to be packed, then another says it won't. One thread using room ressies to figure crowds, another using availibility of PS's...one CM says this, another CM says that. Sheesh! :badpc: I just wanna get there and see for myself already!!!!!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hoping the crowds aren't going to be as bad as some are saying/thinking/guessing (I'll be there May 9th-13th)

I feel a little loopy with all the different info too! Here's my way of dealing with it: If one source says big crowds (let's say an 8 according to UG) and another saying small/regular crowds for this time of year (a 3 w/ UG), I'm hoping for nothing more than 6, maybe even a 5! I figure I better prepare for crowds so at least then I'll be more than pleasantly surprised when there isn't as many! All I know is that I'll be in the nice warm sun :sunny: and not in the cold-we actually had SNOW the other day! (only flurries, but still!!) 7 more days!!!!!

I trust the CM's more than I do UG's site when comparing to expedia hotel availability

::MickeyMo I agree. Now I've been reading that with FP, people haven't been waiting longer than like 10-15 minutes. Sheesh! ::MinnieMo

Geez...do I need a cheat sheet or not

::MickeyMo Who knows? This is terrible. I guess have one just in case. You know, worst case scenario. ::MinnieMo

I'm all for additional information. So what kind of wait times are the Disney CM's predicting at the MK's headliner attractions for May? And in terms of PS availability, what does May look like compared to, say, June or January? Any idea how many PSes are left at the inside-the-park restaurants?

If Disney's giving out that kind of data, I'll be happy to add it to the list of factors being considered.

Thanks!

::MickeyMo I had only asked for the % wise increase in ressies from last May (and last May I think the longest I waited for a headliner attraction was probably 15 minutes the most). I (along with other Disers) have called to switch PS's recently and had no problem doing so. I actually had choices of times. She said she felt it wouldn't affect the crowds much, if at all. Disney feels that it's an increase in ressies, not necessarily people, because of the packages they've been offering. She did say, however, that the summer ressies are ridiculous compared to last year. ::MinnieMo

Even during ave. crowd days peak wait times for headliners run 30-45 minutes.

Now I was there April 9th to 19th. Including 2/3 of the day(approx. 7 hours) at MK on both the 12th(Tuesday) and the 17th(Sunday). The 12th ended up being a 5 on the UG, while the 17th was a 7(approx. 50 & 70 min. peak wait time). I made a PS for the 17th same day. Many people don't even know about PS, even then many wait to get to WDW to make PS.

Guess what, I didn't wait in line longer than 15 minutes for any ride. I didn't even get there when it first opened(one day at 9:45, other day at 11:00). By using FP(able to get 5 each day) combined with research on what rides and when, the crowds made no difference(except the occasional bumping into). Bottom line is even if it is crowded, just know what to ride in the mornings, use FP, take afternoon breaks(or ride less crowded rides), etc. You won't even know its crowded.

I agree with you, even if it is busy, it is better than 6 inches of snow we had about a week ago and 26 degrees two days ago. This is MAY for pete's sake! I'm really hoping crowds won't be too bad. I called for an extra day for two connecting rooms on the 12th and got them without any problem. I was also able to get almost all my dining times when I wanted them also.
