I went to the boutique and tried it on and it fits perfectly! :goodvibes

The only thing is, it needs to be hemmed and I need to have a bustle put in. Which I've heard can easily cost $150... :confused3

I'm so happy! Now this all feels really real!

Congratulations! :Pinkbounc

Great choice of a wedding date, btw! ;) ;)

I can't believe that your Bridal Shop didn't offer free alterations, though. :confused3 Did you ask them if they offered this service as a courtesy?

Mine did. And my daughter special ordered her prom dress last year from a bridal shop and they hemmed, took in the waist, and also created a bustle at no charge.

Gosh, I wish they did free alterations! I know they used to do alterations (at cost) but they don't anymore.

I was just relieved that it didn't need to be let out/taken in. The bust and waist fit perfectly. It's just too long.

It's sooo beautiful! I can't wait until December 10th!

Have you asked at your local dry cleaning store if they do alterations?

So - describe the gown - is it strapless? Beaded? Long train?

Are you wearing a veil?

Looking back, I wish I would have bought a velvet gown for my wedding.

You must be so excited!!! It's great that the dress doesn't have to be taken in but make sure to try it on a week before the wedding. I kept losing weight (I was too excited to eat) so my dress had to be taken in at the last minute.

Even if it's expensive, go to a good seamstress for the alterations. Wedding dresses can be tough to work with and you need someone who knows what they're doing. One bridesmaids dress I had was ruined because I tried to cut corners with the alterations.

So...any pics yet :)

Aaahhhh! It's such a special time. :goodvibes

Just don't forget to eat, because your dress will be too big by your wedding day. :teeth:

yeah! when are you getting married? i cant wait to pick up my dress, it should be ready in december, wedding in march.

Post a picture. I would love to see it! I got married 12 years ago and I bought the first and only dress I tried on. I still love it til this day!
