Just Bought Tickets for Villains Event!!

DS is jumping up and down on his bed right now thrilled that we will be going to the Villains event on Aug. 23. Luckily we arrive at Disney Aug 21 for our summer trip!

I just purchased 3 tickets over phone for 2 adults and 1 child. We are AP holders. AP holders and DVC members can purchase today. I believe tickets for general public go on sale June 9. It cost $208 for the 3 tickets.

The CM said the event is 8pm-1am at DHS. We can hardly wait! DS LOVES villains. And even better, 8/23 is our first day at BWV (doing split stay AKV & BWV).

We will have to pick up our tickets at customer relations, etc. (like MNSSHP).

From what I understand (and assume) it will be similar to last year's Friday the 13th Unleash the Villains event. However that wasn't a hard ticket event as this is. I am also assuming this will sell out (or close to it) as it's a one-day-only event and villains are very popular. I would also assume it will be a lot of locals and people who live within decent driving distance as if you don't already have a trip planned for this time, it is late notice to book and plan a trip for one day...but people do it. Yet who knows how much it will be promoted by Disney. If it wasn't for reading the Disboards often, I wouldn't have found out about it. I wonder if AP holders and DVC members are getting e-mails. I have AP voucher so I was able to book tickets as AP holder (just have to show AP card when I pick up tickets) but I'm not getting e-mails and such because it's not yet activated.

I am hoping it will be less hectic as last year as it is a hard ticket event and they will be better prepared since they did it already. Now the fun begins...trying to find out what characters will be there...I hope it's the same fireworks show as last year as its looked great on youtube.

I was just on MDE rearranging ADRS to accommodate addition of this event to our trip.

Just got our tickets through DVC - I might try and keep this one a birthday surprise for DGrD - I'm not very good at keeping surprises like this one - she LOVES the villains!
Oh, I so hope they keep this party fun and don't oversell it! They certainly are charging enough to make $$ without cramming us into the park shoulder to shoulder. $71.36 was the discount price - $10 ea more than MNSSHP .

That is what I'm afraid of we did MNSSHP on Halloween night one year. Big mistake! Lucky for us we did 2 parties that year.

We arrive at WDW on 8/15 and were supposed to leave late afternoon on 8/23...BUT I just purchased Villains tickets via AP, too, so we will be staying an extra night!

Went to Unleash last year so gladly plunked out $71 each for a ticketed event. Maybe the higher price and "limited number of tickets" (CM words) will lend to a much better event.

I can't imagine this is a one night deal - I can imagine this is a test. They messed up last year but saw the potential. Maybe a one night smaller party will help them fine tune what could be an expansion of dates. Always thought Jan/Feb needed something after the Pirates & Princesses came and went. Fingers crossed they do it right and it's an awesome night .... cause I'm driving down just for this party then back home.
