Hi. We just bought SSR last week and I just wanted to let everyone who is worried about being able to book other resorts that I already got BCV for Sept and BWV for Jan with no problems at all. In fact, all resorts were available and I had my choice. Thanks to everyone on this board for their help.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new :confused3
We just bought at SSR in July, how did you book right away (or did you buy resale?) Our guide called yesterday and said that we should get the paperwork by next week. Want to book a nice getaway for June, got a graduation to celebrate!

If you have already paid your deposit, you should be in the DVC system and can already make reservations even though you have not yet closed.

Just call MS and enjoy the experience.

Welcome Home! :)

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,
Tom & Staff :rockband: :dancer: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

As someone mentioned, as soon as they have your deposit, you should be able to make a reservation ... however ... I don't believe you can check in until you have made the full 10% contribution (or something like that) ... ;)

Congratulations and Welcome home, to both of you!

Bobbi :cheer2:

Thank you all. I am so excited. We will be at BCV on Sept 10th. I paid in full with my Disney Visa card (so I could get all the points) and was in the system the very next day and able to make reservations.

Congratulations and Welcome Home JENR and maureenann!!

Thanks everyone! We actually paid in full so we should be ok. Hope that you don't mind if I need to pick a brain (or more), this is all new to us. I want to learn the "finer points" and tricks of the trade. I have been coming to Disney almost every year since it opened in the early 70's. Been staying at the BC for years now, took the plunge with DVC last month and bought at SSR. We liked the place, and I don't really think that you can go wrong with Disney. :sunny:
110 in PA today!

Welcome Home and congrats on your bookings. I have found (even though we have not been members long) that as long as you are a bit flexible and not going to WDW at the peak times (Easter Break, Christmas etc...) that you can usually book without too much worry.

Enjoy
Eric

Welcome Neighbor! I bought at SSR in May and I was able to book 2 nights at OKW for June right away. I was already going to be down in FL visiting the parentals, but hadn't thought I could ever stay that soon on points. We stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom and LOVED it. I can't wait to go for my first trip HOME in November!!

I think it's true that if you are able to be a little flexible and stay outside of the peak periods you should be ok. The real issues seem to be school vacation times.

We also feel we can't go wrong with Disney! Isn't it great to own your own personal "Laughin' Place"? :rotfl:

What a coincidence!!! We just became DVC members and bought at SSR in June 2006. We're also planning a trip in June 2007 to celebrate my high school graduation! :cool1:

^ so what would you have those of us new buyers do? if we buy at one of the other resorts, its still new members taking up YOUR precious 7 month vacations. if its something youre not willing to live with, or *GASP* plan for, sell it. and just for clarification, i plan on staying at SSR quite a bit, because i like it. that does NOT preclude me from enjoying other resorts when i can get a reservation. i mean, it makes a little sense, its called DISNEY VACATION CLUB, not SARATOGA SPRINGS VACATION CLUB or BOARDWALK VACATION CLUB
