Just bought a pop up!!

We should start a new "movement" NAACP...New Appreciation & Admiration 4 Cold Porcelain

BAHAHAHA! Yer crackin me up here!

Well...I guess I need to contribute to the potty patrol and say....I got the best birthday present ever last year, a Luggable Loo. :lmao:

It's basically a 5 gallon bucket with a potty seat and lid snapped on. You line it with two kitchen bags, dump some kitty litter in it and away you go. Muhahaha, I know everyone wanted to hear all about our potty.

Our pup only has a shower, no potty and we didn't want to have to get out of the popup and go into the campervan late at night so we started looking for a porta-potti. Now, I'm not cleaning out any kind of potty device so I had to find something I could just "bag and toss".

Ladies and gentleman, I present, The Luggable Loo

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thats great! Pictures, too! You, my dear, respect your potty!

hehehehe, I have to 'fess up, I swiped the pic from Cabela's LOL We couldn't find the whole set, just the luggable loo seat/lid, we had to provide our own bucket which happens to be a bright neon blue :lmao:

Try not to be too jealous of our potty everyone. ~grin~

For those of you looking to buy a popup, the first thing you should do is check the towing capacity of your TV (tow vehicle). It is absolutely crucial that you purchase something it can handle. Don't take this lightly. (no pun)
Then you have to seen what the popup weighs FULLY LOADED and be sure you are giving yourself enough leeway to safely tow your new treasure.
I just went through this last year and learned a TON of info on Popup Explorer, an excellent forum for newbies.
Bought my first pup last year and LOVE IT. Have done the tent thing all my life and enough was enough. The one thing that was stressed about pup owership is to make a detailed list that includes hooking the popup to the TV, a list that shows steps for setup, a list for what goes in the pup and TV and a list of what to bring.
Go by your lists faithfully and you gain the confidence to conquer the wonderful world of pup ownership.

Congrats MinnieMom and Cindy:

I have a pop-up too, a Jayco 12HW (2005) with a slideout dinette, toilet/shower, and stove/oven/microwave. Plus fridge and cd player. Pop-ups are great because they are lower cost and don't require a big tow vehicle to pull it.

Although, to tell you the truth, I'm disgusted with MinnieMom because her signature says "Florida" so there's another poster who can "grab-and-go" to the Fort on weekends, post pictures of their setup each weekend, complain about the beautiful weather, and the crowds in the parks, the food in the restaurants, blah blah blah blah pirate:

Seriously, congrats and enjoy it. Park your pop-up with pride next to those $200k motor homes at the Fort knowing you belong just as much as they do. Take it other places besides the Fort to get the full benefit of ownership. Find someplace in the fall where the leaves change color, for example.

Enjoy! :cheer2:

Congratulations on buying your pop-up!!!! DH and I are so envious. We were going to buy a used travel trailer this year, but you have inspired us to go with a pop-up. Our biggest thing is saving money. I did not realize that pop-ups offer a compact toilet/shower which is one thing I can not live without which is the entire reason I thought we needed a TT.

Not only will we be able to take it to the Fort in the future, we can also haul it quite efficiently anywhere we want to go (including Yellowstone).

I just back up behind a tree and grab a hand full of leafage.::yes::
Oh we have a bathroom in the camper,,I just like the competition with the bears.:lmao:

When we had our PUP we bought an extra small frig that plugged in outside so we had more cold storage...it was a great investment.

We have a fridge in the Pop up and in the camper van but we still have a 5 day cooler that we sit outside to hold sodas etc. A cooler that racoons can not get in!

Are you sure about that, didn't they grab a few sodas to go with the pizza they snagged????:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hmmm...now that you mention it...I was fussing about all the sodas we've gone throught this weekend, maybe they got in the cooler after all!

Thieving soda/pizza grabbers....I wonder if they were laying around in our pop up and watching our DVDs while we were gone too! I best not find any raccoon hairs in my shower.
