Hi, have been lurking on here for past couple of weeks. We love Disneyland Paris but last year decided to take the plunge and go to Florida. Had a great time although I wouldn't recommend June (apparently rainy season!).

We found ourselves comparing so much in Disney World to everything we love about Paris and, well, we just missed it!

So i am so so pleased to report that I have just booked 4 nights over Easter at the Disneyland hotel :cool1:

Had been watching prices on the Disney site for past week, when I checked today the price for a family room had nearly doubled!!!! After a bit of research I found another site World Travellers who still had the offer on and quickly booked for £2500.

Hope all will be ok as only booked direct with Disney before. On another forum some others had used them and all ok so fingers crossed.

Can't wait :goodvibes. Now do we tell the kids or keep it a secret? Will have to think about it me thinks

Can also see my ticker has not worked! Can't remember how to post it on here, will go and investigate

Complete nightmare! World travellers have just rang back to say Disneyland Hotel is full for family rooms and have had to cancel booking! Don't believe it, I am speechless at the mo and don't know what to do next :confused3

I'd call them back and see if they can fit you into one of the other hotels. Can't remember if the HNY, SQ or NPBC has family rooms, I know the Santa Fe does.

Yeah that's what I thought so have just rang and Newport Bay also now sold out on family rooms. Only option on site is to have two rooms somewhere and request that they are connecting.

They do have 2 rooms at Hotel New York, they are standard or for 200 more lake view. Does anyone know if standard is ok or would we be better upgrading to lake view?

Just mega disappointed at the mo :sad2:

All change now.....we have definitely booked this time direct with Disney. Have gone for 2 lake view rooms at HNY and requested connecting and high floor.

Just feel silly for feeling disappointed as I should be extremely over the moon that we are going back AND staying in a nice hotel. We don't know anything about HNY though and haven't even been in for a peek before......perhaps we will be surprised :goodvibes

I think all of the rooms are the same, its just a view you are paying for. I personally wouldn't bother, as we don't spend any time in the room except sleeping, or its dark. It depends whether you think you will sit looking at the view!

edited - just seen you've already booked! I'm sure they will be lovely rooms!

Lol!!! I know I agree the view doesn't really matter but my other half thinks it is more important so wanted to pay the extra. I would have rather had the extra for some yummy meals :)

We arrive Friday 29th March and leave on Tuesday 2nd April. We are driving (usual for us) and have booked the tunnel crossing back for 19.50 so will have a little time on the Tuesday before we leave.

Have never stayed over a weekend before so hoping to catch this Inventions brunch I keep reading about.

Hotel New York is my favourite DLRP hotel! It will be our third time to stay there this year....have to say I love the lakeview and would pay the extra.....love opening the curtains to that in morning also view across at night is gorgeous with the Newport Bay all lit up :goodvibes

You will love it!

Oh that sounds really lovely :goodvibes
I'm delighted you eventually got sorted after your initial let down. I would LOVE to stay at HNY too but we just can't save enough to stay there, I always book whatever's cheapest as soon as I have enough money instead of saving d'oh :rotfl:

Enjoy your trip :thumbsup2

We went to Disney World and Disneyland for the first time last year and although we loved it, we felt it was a disappointment compared to the Parisian park. When we got home we booked a trip back to DLP. That's our park too.

It's so interesting that you say that given how many Florida veterans go to Paris and leave disappointed, I'm a huge fan of all of the resorts worldwide but I do consider Paris my "home" park too.

Oh thank you Disneyfanswicklow (Jo)! So lovely to hear that, the excitement is building now with us all :cool1:

Told the kids this morning and they already starting to plan and warn me they don't want to go too commando this time! What me? Never.....;)

Royal Consort - isn't it funny how you can feel like that about the parks, just like us. We thought Disney world would be the be all and end all but there was so much we like in Paris that we didn't have there. Plus the weather wasn't good to us, you were either being roasted alive by the sun or drenched by the monsoon rains!

W all feel like we are going home this time too :dance3:

Great news. Love HNY! It even smells lovely!! Happy planning :goodvibes:

Oh fantastic so it has a lovely smell thing too, like the Disneyland Hotel? I love the fragrance type smell they use there :)

Wow you are going really soon, and to the HNY. Can't wait to hear all about your special trip...

Same here ::yes:: :goodvibes

Luckily the restaurants at the HNY are considerably less expensive than the ones at the DLH and the food was good in both, particularly in the Manhattan restaurant. So if you decide to eat in your hotel, compared to eating at the DLH, you could recoup quite a bit of that lakeview cost!! ;)

The rooms at the HNY are the same size as the ones at the DLH and the bathroom layout is the same as well, with two basins etc. And having the two connecting rooms will be great - much nicer than all squashing into one!

Makes a really nice change to hear it this way round. :goodvibes

Ah thanks everyone you are really making me excited and ready to plan our trip.

After being initially disappointed I think it may turn out very well. You are so right about us all being squashed into one room especially now our eldest 2 are just about teenagers!

It may have to be two rooms for us from now on, the extra bathroom as well with five of us is a real bonus :goodvibes
