Wow, you will have a great time. We stayed at the AKL in September and loved it. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know that I can help you with.

Hi ariel

I have a couple of questions please

1) What room view did you have. We have booked just a standard room but because it will be my 4oth we might try to upgrade when we get there.

2) Did you try the restuarants in AKL and what were they like

Any other things that we might be intrested in?
Thankyou
:) :) :) :)

Hi there

Just seen your questions, sorry for not replying sooner. We had a savannah view room, which was fantastic and we saw a lot more animals than we were expecting to. We did book this in advance, however, I have heard of many people getting upgraded on arrival, so it is definitely worth asking.

We used the food court, The Mara, which is the usual standard Disney food court, good counter service food and some African options. We didn't try Boma but that looked very nice. We also went to Jiko one night. I thought it was expensive for the quality - it was a good meal but certainly not the best I have ever had. However, many people will disagree with me here!

Take your time to wander around the various outcrops and savannahs to see the animals, and put some time aside to look round the lobby and talk to the CMs, they have lots of interesting stories to tell about Africa. Also, definitely try to use the night vision goggles to view the savannah - you can do this around 8 pm on most nights, follow the signs that say night watch, or ask a CM. It is a truly amazing sight.
