Just booked VGC for 3 nights!

My entire family is doing a grand gathering type event at the beginning of October and I was able to book a studio!

I was on hold for about 15 minutes but at least it was available! We own at SSR, so I had to wait until June 21 to book.

My question is, can non-owners book at the VGC? I thought non-owners could book, it's usually really expensive though right? Just incase anyone in our group wants more spacious accomodations.

I'm super excited since I've been watching construction on it for about the past 2 years on all my DL trips.

The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a hotel that was built in 2001.

The Villas at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are in the DVC addition (an extra wing built with similar architecture).

The GC is the most expensive of the 3 DL hotels, so don't be shocked when you look up prices.

I believe that DVC members whose home resorts are elsewhere can book starting today at VGC from now to 7 months out. VGC are supposed to open 9/23. After 2009, DVC members can't use points to the regular Grand Californian, only the villas, but the other two DL hotels will be available. If you are looking for something in October you may want to make a decision as soon as you can as October is a popular time at DL with all the Halloween activities. Have fun with your planning!
