I just booked a trip to DWR for Dec. 16-21. I am a passholder, and AAA member, and only need one room this time for myself and daughter. I was hoping that except for the last day, neither the parks nor the resorts would be to crowded, but I guess that doesn't happen anymore.
The choice of available rooms was sparse to say the least. Normally, I'd prefer the GFL but couldn't get anything interesting at any monorail resort. I did reserve a "Club Level" room with a "lagoon view" at the Beach Club. Although theortically a "passholder discount", the price is up there with some pretty fancy company in NY and LA (I think I paid less at the Penninsula in Beverly Hills). Still, I have the next two months to alter my plans, so perhaps fans of the BC could give me a little advice.
1) Is "club level" what used to be called consierge? If so, can we expect drinks, food, and most importantly planning services?
2) Is the Lagoon View the good view. What does "WG" mean on the reservation confirmation.
3) Is there a marina there to rent boats, or go parasailing?
4) Health Club?
5) For about $500/night, should I be able to do better? So should I keep in frequent touch with Disney reservations to try and find something better?
I have stayed at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Animal Kingdom.
Thanks for any help.
