Just booked the GETAWAY rate at DL for late June

We also booked room only at the GC and got a very good price. Five nights for 1140! I then went to book flights and hit a seat sale 87 bucks each way woot!:cool1:

So confused!! It is our first trip to DL in July and I had decided we would stay at the Candy Cane Inn for 4 nights-- total price $685. I was just looking on the DL website yesterday and saw the GCH standard room for the same dates for a total of $1269-- including resort fees. There is a difference of $584 which is a lot of $$ but then again this is probably my only trip to DL. I am so tempted-- I did book the room only while I think about it. I would pay the difference if I think we would spend some time at the hotel. We are arriving at DL on a Sunday evening after going to the SD Zoo. We plan on visiting the parks all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday-- we leave on Thursday. Will we have time to see and do everything in the parks in late July on these days and still have time to enjoy the pools etc..at the GCH? My kids are 12 and 15 and we usually go from opening to closing in WDW.

I would say GCH! :thumbsup2 The park will be open long hours during the summer so you will have plenty of time to walk back and enjoy the pool and/or lobby and then head back to the parks to use your fast passes in the evening. The GCH is much smaller than any resort at WDW - so enjoying it doesn't take as long! :) Also, you will be amazed at how close and convenient the hotel will be to BOTH parks - there is actually an entrance into DCA from the GCH! And DL is also a few minutes away.

I like the way you think Becci!! We also have all day on Thursday since we are catching a red-eye home at 10:30 pm. My DH wants to get a Southern CA citypass and go to Universal on Thursday before our flight home. I would rather stay and enjoy the GCH. So many decisions. My DH thinks Candy Cane Inn, I am thinking GCH. I, however, am the official vacation planner!! ;)

Thanks, we just booked DLH for our trip in August. I'm still hoping for AP rates though. We're currently booked at DLH for $208/night. Looking at our last year's trip in August as well, we paid $249/night for concierge. So, I'm still crossing fingers for special AP rates.

I thought I was reading my owen fustration:rotfl2:, we are going down In late June and staying at CCI but for five nights at 611.00. When I seen that Disney extended there spring discount I was too going for the Disney Resort decision game!!,but In our case It was the DLH and since then I have been pulling at my guts. One day It was CCI and feeling good justfying It and the next going both feet Into the DLH and really feeling good about that but going back and fourth with my 16yo DS at this point he's just wondering If we are just going to end up camping somewhere In :rotfl2:between the two. My big pulling point for CCI Is the Breakfast It could turn out to be a big money saver but take that away and Its only two hunred more at DLH! As I sit here I am still debateing:scared1:

Again, I owe my dis friends a big Thank You!!! :worship: I had looked at staying at the DLH before but did not like the price. I just booked 6 nights at the Disneyland Hotel for $208 a night plus tax./each $1435 total. ($239 deposit) I'm totally excited. The reservationist (Sheryl) was awesome. She said it was the 30% off deal. I booked 2 more rooms for my sisters too. We did rooms only. I had originally booked 3 kid suites at HOJO for $164 a night. The $44 per night difference is TOTALLY worth it to me. Being at the DLH adds a level of relaxation that I'm thrilled to have. :hippie:
