for the amazing rate of $124 :cool1:

Staying there during the week after easter (only for a night as a treat for my DD)

tell me all about the hotel please :thumbsup2

great rate :)
Not stayed at RPR yet we are going Aug 2008, there are some great pics on here :)
Any tips on getting such a great rate? My parents are hoping to come to RPR when we go but they need a good deal!!

It's an AP rate just dropped from over $200. I've been checking the rate online for the past week for something 'affordable' and I found it :D

The hotel is lovely and fol pass is great. We ate breakfast and tea sometimes in the hotel restaurant and found it to be very good. The pool is lovely and dont forget you can pool hop to the other 2 pools.
the boat to the parks is good butthe walk is easy as well. Get a lowes card for free milk and cookies!. Rooms are posh (2 us anyway):thumbsup2

Great rate Tracy, we are staying the 30th & 31st March and its over $310 a night rate no APH rate or AAA available, the hotel itself is a conference hotel but don't be put of the theming is great, Orchid Court does breakfast items $2.50 for milk and cereal, pastries $2-$3 coffee free refill till 11am 12 on weekends, Bula bar at the pool is good but beware tip is already added even if u collect at bar yourself, but Jakes is right next to pool no service charge, last year they started selling ice cream at the pool believe it or not they really didn't serve it before that:confused3 , check in early to get FOTL as parks open, enjoy your pool in afternoon, don't order room service its from Jakes u can order to go from Jakes much cheaper than room service, stay away from the Fiji water its $6 a bottle in your room remember lobby is floor 3 so don't do what we did first time and get in lift and press 3 took us awhile to work it out:rotfl: :rotfl: very embarrassing but over the years have saw others incl Americans make same error:lmao: , we found the boat service to have declined over the years and find it quicker to walk 8min to IOA or 12min to USO, your hotel keycard also gets u PS at Citywalk restaurants, although if u fancy a splurge Tchoup Tchoup is well worth a visit, character dinners in Islands Dining room Tuesday, Friday & Saturday last year and last two years

That really is a great rate, Tracey, and it just goes to show that it's worth checking right up until the last minute. Even if you've already booked, they'll switch you to a lower rate if you spot one.

We've stayed at all 3 Universal resorts and we like them all, but RPR is particularly good because, whilst it tends to be considerably cheaper than the other two, it isn't inferior. In fact, I would put it on a par with HRH. I guess that must command higher prices due to its popularity.

I agree that walking is the best option - 10 minutes at a stroll to CityWalk. After a heavy day at the parks, though, it's nice to have the option of the water-taxi to get you back. They don't operate them during lightening storms. They also run buses, but we've never used one.

We like Jake's bar, but we've only experienced it as a group of adults actually sitting at the bar. The main restaurant is surprisingly good of its kind (better than the Kitchen at HRH, IMHO). Emeril's Tchoup Chop is a good choice for a special meal, but as you're only there for one night, you might want to take the opportunity to do CityWalk.

I'm a little confused at this comment. I'm struggling to understand the difference in having the tip added, or adding one yourself.

If you aren't aware of tip being added u end up tipping twice, I personally feel awkward when waitress delivers the drink's from Bula therefore end up tipping her, plus paying service charge from bar makes for about 30% increase in bar bill and RPR bar prices ain't cheap, in fact Tchoup Tchoup bar is actually cheaper if u fancy a drink in the evening

I am also staying here this July so if any one has any tips whilst staying here, they will be much appreciated.

We stayed at the RPR last year and returning this year.
Wonderful resort ,and staff friendly and helpful. Last year we tended to give the park a miss in the mornings, and stayed at the pool till late afternoon, before heading to parks ,we then came out had our dinner and back into the park for more rides and fireworks. We never waited more than 5 mins for anyride and we where there the first week of July.

I am paying way more than that and am having to have 2 rooms for my kids.
How on earth did you get that AP rate?? I rang last night and asked for AP rate and was told it was not available til end of APril. I thought it was strange as we have always managed to get AP rate previouslyn. Is annoying. I will try again.
It's a nice hotel though not as grand as Portofino. We felt the rooms were a bit tiny by american standards and very red! The first time we went there just didn't seem like there was enough room for all 4 of us in one room and we checked out and went to Portofino.
The theming is lovely though and the food is pretty good. I just think that the prices this year have gone crazy.
Hope you have a lovely stay.

.

I just checked the website - have been doing weekly since my parents offered to pay for us to stay there for a night as a treat (and 'cos we had to cancel our trip out to Vero). There are a couple of Mon-Wed nights in April that have this rate - we're staying on the 16th & I think the week after has the same rate :thumbsup2

Thanks for that we were planning to do Disney parks in the morning then return to RPR for a swim before hitting the parks. It was reassuring to see that even going in the afternoon or evening wait times were minimal. What restaurants would you recommend either in RPR or Universal Citywalk? We have usually just ate in the parks or on the way to another park.

Can someone please tell me the link to the website to try for AP or AA discounts at RPR?

Is it the Loews Hotels site?

Thanks!

Julie

Juliebro, you need to call for AAA rates, although you can find them on www.bookit.com.
but if you book through them i do not think you can get the rate changed if it goes down ,and it will not count as a stay towards your Loews first.

Wicket 2005,
we are a bit like yourself tend to eat wherever we are at the time.
We ate at margaritaville and, Nascar cafe now grille at CW.
had breakfast in the Orchid lounge a few times, and ate in Jakes bar , and the Bula bar at the pool is quite good, ate here at the pool quite a few times as DD10 did not want to leave the pool.
Planning hopefully to book Mythos and have some meals with the characters in the Islands dining room this time.

Rate showing as $239 per night for 30th April on the Bookit site.

Just tried calling the reservations line at the hotel to ask for any discounted deals but office closed at the moment.

Julie
