Just booked Royal Pacific for $139 APH rate

What :yay: You mean I can change my $175 rate to $139 per night for our upcoming 4 night trip (savings of $144)? And all I have to do is buy an APH for $245 vs. a 4 day park-to-park for $151 (increase with tax included of just $94).

That'll net me $50 right away plus the additional discounts on food and merchandise. Ah, I love the DIS!

Thanks for starting this thread maryisme. :woohoo:

Yes.

Aren't there a limited number of rooms at any given time with the AP rate? Don't know b/c I don't have one, but I think I've read that there...or maybe that only applies to WDW.

Is there a place to look that gives the best description of what other discounts/perks you get with the AP other than the room discount?
Thanks!

Yes there are a limited number of rooms. That is why, if you are entertaining this idea, you need to confirm your booking before you buy your AP for that specific reason.

The discounts vary depending on time of year. The slower seasons have higher discount rates. Your best bet is just to call and ask what deals they have going on. They are happy to tell you.

Thanks Damo:thumbsup2

I would be paying for the second room as a treat for our friends who could't really afford it otherwise - does that mean its ok then?:thumbsup2

Wow Amy!....Do you need anymore friends?! :goodvibes

It should be no problem for you to book them both.

Have fun!

Another good point...renewals are $159

More great advice! I found out about the Annual Pass here and really saved a lot of money once I determined I had to purchase a ticket anyway! We actually "forgot" to use our annual pass discount on a few items we purchased at Universal. (One example was the Harry Potter wands we purchased.) We took our receipt to the Universal Store and they gave us the credit! We saved a lot of money on our hotel using the Annual Pass!:cool1:

That is the annual pass rate. You can purchase an annual pass for $229. You can check annual pass rates by entering APH as the code when you check rates online at www.loewshotels.com
I tried the code but it's not showing any price difference for me :confused3 Is it because it is too far away Nov. 2012? Also what category do I choose from the drop-down box before entering the code....PROMOTION or BEST???

i use Best if it is far out from the time i will be there. if no promos are out, you should use Best.

but, if you try both, you will get the same prices until discounted rates come out.

the only place that has the entire 2012 rates out is the Loews site.

AP and AAA rates will come out later for next year.

Some promos are out for jan and feb at this point.
some promos will be added later in the year or early next year.

According to the website, the regular APH is actually $259, there is a Florida Resident rate that is $229.
Did they just jack up the AP cost significantly, or am I missing something?

Yup...new prices.

Just another tip...sign up for email promotions via the official site. We have received 3 pin codes this year. We are using one for the second time. Just booked RPR club level king for $191 with the 40% pin code. Used the code on our last trip and got PBH club king for $263. Just an FYI.

Which official site? Loews or USF? I could really use a pin code for our upcoming trip. I'm not seeing any discounts for our dates. :confused3

If they have AP rates, they'll show. If nothing shows up for AP rates, they don't have them. Might be gone already, might not have been released...no solid way to tell.

When I put APH in, the dropdown automatically goes to Promotion, when I do it (I watch it as I go to click on enter). So it doesn't matter what I pull down, since it changes it anyway.

Is this the email promotions thru your AP (official site) or is this thru Lowe's (official site)?

thanks
