I just booked 7 nights at POP, May 3-10 2007 for me, DH, DD13, DS9 with park hopper, water option and dining and it came to $2841.67. (preferred room)

I went on line to disneyworld.com and punched in the same info and got a price of 2980.87. There is only 139.20 difference. I don't know why, but I thought the discount for AAA was more than that. Does that sound right to you guys? Just curious.

That price does not include insurance. I did add that on after she quoted me the price. The insurance was $95.00 but I needed it because my father has been ill and I wanted to make sure I could cancel without losing all that money.

Family of 4...me, DH, DD11, DS16:

Here's what i booked this am : 2 Preferred rooms POP, 7 day hopper w/water parks NO dining for 8 nights; $2580.88

If I had wanted the dining plan added and 8 day regular park hopper (no water park) instead of 7 day, my AAA TA quoted me $3796.86! thats with insurance.

The CRO was very nice and broke the costs down for me

POP AAA rate for preferred: 75.60 / standard room: 65.60
so for 2 rooms, 8 nights: $1354.00 ($677 each room)

7 day hoppers plus water: $1226.88 ($306.74 per person)

Dining plan for a family of four (my 2 kids are 11 and 16) $156 per day for all of us so that would come to $1248.00 for our stay of 8 nights. I decided to wait and see if free dining might come back...the CRO agent said it could happen...and if it does, you can add it on then. If not...oh well.

Here's the quote I got from AAA for April 26 - May 4, 2007: regular season

2 standard rooms at POP for 5 adults, 8 day base tickets, dining plan, insurance, taxes: $4505.04; without insurance $4205.29.

2 standard rooms at POP, 5 adults, 8 day base tickets, insurance, taxes: $3046.24 Without insurance $2746.49.

Quotes I got from Disney website:

2 standard rooms ar POP for 5 adults, 8 day base tickets, dining plan, no insurance or aaa discount, taxes:$4574.49

2 standard rooms for 5 adults, 8 day base tickets, no insurance or aaa discount, taxes: $3014.89

OK I thought I had the same problem, but did you take the Disney World screen all the way to the end?? Where it asks for your credit card? Thats when the 13% tax gets added, try that and see what # you get. I thought the same but it did not include tax and AAA rate did. Happy PLanning and have a great trip!

When I got my quote from WDW my package cost was $4,016.58.

I wanted to see if they added on tax at the end where you put your credit card in.

The total didn't change. It was still $4,016.58. I had the option of paying $200 down or the full $4,016.58.

I spoke with WDW today about that. They only add tax ater you key in your credit card number and not before! Good Luck!

I just booked mine today through AAA, here is what I got for April 27- May 5:
1 preferred room POP, dining plan, 8 day park hopper - $2651.96
That is $150 less than disney site had quoted.

When you booked with AAA did they give you a confirmation#? They didnt give me one when i booked my package

I received confirmation numbers on the printouts I got from my AAA agent. We booked 2 rooms and got a confirmation number for each room.

My AAA TA told me that Disney was having trouble faxing out the confirmation #'s to her (she was waiting on at least ten), but as soon as she gets it then she will put them in the mail to me :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if you get a standard room at POP, can you request which building? I don't think I would like the 90's building, so I booked preferred. But I read on another thread that there is not much walking difference between standard and preferred at POP and it would save me $$ :cool1:

Your saving about $17 a night (room portion only) by booking through AAA. 7 nights at that savings comes to exactly $139 after taxes. Looks spot on to me.

I just got back from speaking with a local AAA Travel Agent in person. She Quoted me for 6 nights/7 days, May 7th-13th at Pop Century, Standard room with 4 day base ticket and Dining Plan for me and Disney Dad(50) ... 1,471.04 before tax. And that was with the AAA Discount. I just looked up the exact same thing on the disney website without the AAA discount and it quoted me at 1,571.72. So basically I'm saving about $100 all together. She gave me copies of the printout along with the 2006 book. She said the 07 ones would be out sometime in September. She didn't have a clue when they would release a new vacation planning video. Does anybody know when they released the 2006 one???

I'm so happy!!! :cool1: She seemed very up-to date with her disney info and said I had been doing my research. You darn right I have. I can't wait!!!

:dance3: Congrats on booking your trip!!
If you hear anything about the 2007 book or video, please post here, I want to know too!! :cool1:

Thats prob. about right. From what i can tell the discount with AAA is not the same all year round. Peak times have less of a % off than value times is what it looks like to me. Ive got a savings of about 340.00 off of my stay but i think it would of been less in a peak time of year
