funny, all this time, we were set on going to POR....since we were there in 95 and loved it

but we changed our minds in the last DAY because the new renovations is too much of a draw for us

We had ressies for CBR because Port Orleans French Quarter was closed but when we heard it's opening again, we changed the ressies as soon as we heard!

What kind of rate did you get for this time frame? We're thinking of going at the end of May but there are no discounts out yet.


Mudogs....tell me about Bldg 5...which section is this in? How does one know where to request?

We're going back to PO-FQ in April. We just love that resort. We did POR while PO-FQ was closed down; 9 yo DD likes POR better, but I won this time. I can't wait to see the refurbishments, etc.

You can see the building locations and building 5 is terrific. It is a smallish resort, so you're really close to everything. First time we were there (before we knew you could request buildings) we were in building 7. It was fine. After I learned about requesting, we've asked for 5 and have stayed there a few times. It really is the best.

Cruisin: Building 5 is a great location because you are close to the pool, the food court and on the same side of the resort as the bus stop. This resort has only one bus stop, but it's not a problem. You are picked up first before they go to POR, and you are the first dropped off. I assume it will be this way again once the resort re-opens. We had a great view of the courtyard. It was quiet at night. You can have your request added to your reservation by calling. I know some resorts are not accepting fax requests before arrival, but I haven't heard that POFQ isn't. Check out the map on the post above.
When I got the news that POFQ was opening up right before our trip on March 26th, I tried to talk my boys into switching, but they wanted to try a new place. I've heard good reports about CSR also, so we should have a great time!
