I just booked POFQ with an AP discount. I have never stayed there ( or any mod for that matter). I have stayed at POP, AKL, CR and Poly. I am kinda nervous that I will not like it and dont know what to expect. Please tell me your experiences and opinions.. good and bad.

From one Chloe'sMom to another! :)

We loved POFQ! It is one of my favorite resorts and would probably take it over most the deluxes.

I love how small the resort is, yet uncrowded. The pool is fun, the lampost and outdoor decor is fab. I love walking around the resorts down to the river in the morning. I like the boat transportation to DTD (about 10 minutes). I like the food court, lots to offer and the beignets for breakfast are killer.

POFQ is very nice and very clean...the only downside we had (May '07) was that we were in building number one...it was a bit of a hike from the room to the pool, food, desk, etc. as well as a pretty good walk from the room to the bus to wait for bus to MK,etc. but the upside is that being away from pool and such its quieter. Generally no complaints...planning on returning next May and probally stay POFQ again however we will request a room somewhat closer to everything. :thumbsup2

Returned Friday from POR and probably won't stay there again, BUT would definitely stay at POFQ. We walked over there a few times and actually liked it better! It's smaller and much closer to everything, unlike POR. The only thing is that the food court is kinda small but still manageable. Also, the buses, when we were there last week, picked up at POFQ first and then went to POR to pick up. They were always crowded, but the POFQ people always had a seat because the were picked up first. Nice resort. Beautiful grounds. Very peaceful. Boat ride to DDT is great. I think you'll like it.

we totally loved the FQ... very very peaceful... we had gotten a perferred room and it was wonderful...close to everything... the pool is awesome..and being that it was me, mom and sis(27) we had a ball on the slide lol..i also met a very dead friend there..he was a CM and we still to this day keep in touch.... everyone was so friendly... at night in the food court they had a man there singing for everyone..he would take request and i think he liked my momma lol..:lmao: it was fun... the carriage ride is also very nice and peaceful... the buses were never full..always had a seat...i cant say enough about FQ infact we may be staying there in 6/2008

LOVE love love love LOVE LOVE LOVE love LOVE lOvE LoVe POFQ!!!!

Was there sept 05 and will stay again sept 08... while I COULD probably save for something else by that time... or could save MORE money and do value.. I loved my stay at POFQ too much and want my mom to experience it!

i also met a very dead friend there..he was a CM and we still to this day keep in touch.... everyone was so friendly..>>>>>>>

Unless you keep in touch with the afterworld, I am assuming you mean he is a very DEAR friend! :lmao:

Yeah, I thought they kept the happy haunts at HM, but since its closed, maybe not. :lmao:

The only thing wrong with POFQ is that I'm not there now. It's a great place. It's quiet and very relaxing. A great place to escape to.

To the OP's question: I have never stayed at a deluxe (but I'm considering Deluxe for my next trip) so I don't know how it would compare to POFQ or other mod. But I loved POFQ! It was much better in my opinion than CSR or CBR. It's such a pretty and quaint resort and no building is more than a 5 minute walk from anything. I enjoyed the boat to DTD, don't miss that! There are also carriage rides, which I wish I had done but ran out of time. The entertainer in the lounge was great, too. It's so nice to have a small resort to retun to after a long day in the parks. Enjoy!!

I love POFQ. Stayed there 6 years ago with my granddaughter. I am currently planning a June '08 trip for my whole family...9 total and plan to stay at POFQ. Bus service was great, food court was small but only a short walk to POR's food court. I liked the pool at POFQ better than POR. No complaints on anything.

We loved French Quarter. Since it is the first stop for Port Orleans, your chances of getting a seat on the buses is much higher than at POR.

Also, when we were there the past few times there was a great one-person performer in the lounge area most evenings. Last year went to POFQ just to hear the performer then walked back to POR. The kids loved listening to him sing.

Good choice we stayed there several years ago and really like the place. The pool, the grounds ,boat ride to DTD and best feature of all, bus stops at POFQ first and you always have a seat to leave the resort.

It is a wonderful resort and as you can tell by my signature our favorite. We have had all ages there from 4 yrs 22, 30 , 50 and 70. We all loved it. Nothing is more than a 5 minute walk from one point of the resort to the other. POFQ and POR are sister resorts and you can walk over to POR (10 minutes riverside walk) and try their pool food court etc. The boat to DTD will also go to POR as well. Begneits are wonderful and we found all the food at the court good. Maid service is good and lots of bunnies, foilage, shade, wonderful shade all around.

Here are a couple of pictures. Also below is the sticky thread on the resort:

Wow thanks everyone.. not a bad word to be said. Makes me very happy with my choice. I was really worried about how far everything would be from the main building and the food court but you guys have eased my fears on that. Now I am really excited to be visiting POFQ for the first time and at a super rate of $94!
The slide looks like too much fun to pass up! Once DD sees that she will never want to leave!

Love POFQ and am sure that you will too. There are many water view rooms and many very close to the river. We really enjoy walking along the river to POR. Such wonderful CM's. The gift shop is very nice too. Have a magical trip.

we just stayed there for the first time last month. It's a gorgeous resort and I really loved how small it is. We were right next to the pool (it wasn't loud at all). The laundry is right there too (if you're swimming for a few hours, it's so easy to throw in a load of laundry). The food court was great too. The kids loved the playground, and we all loved just walking down the 'streets'. We also boated over to POR, swam, played on the playground, ate, then walked back (5 - 10 minute walk at most). We had only stayed in deluxe and villas before, so i was nervous we'd hate it. But we didn't! Our only bad experience was them not having a direct bus to MGM in the morning. I don't know if this was only one morning, or it was wrong info given to my dh by the bus driver and a resort cm, or if it's the norm. I found it very, very strange. (i don't think it's the norm, because i've never read about anyone else experiencing this). My dh and ds had to take an MK bus, then the ferry to TTC, then an MGM bus. He was, to say the least, annoyed. But again, i find it hard to believe it's the norm... The bus driver told him they only have afternoon direct busses to mgm from there (and a resort cm was standing there and told him the same thing). :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

BUT, aside from that, great, great, great resort!! you'll love it!

yes yes yes a DEAR friend...

can not believe i did that lol

In my opinion there's not much bad you can say about POFQ - we absolutely loved:love: the resort. The small size of the resort was for us a big plus - we have stayed at CBR before and for us it was just too big. To be able to walk to everything (pool, bus stop, food court/arcade) in just a short time was great. The pool was a lot of fun and my son loved the slide. The food court was good and seemed able to handle the guests fairly efficiently (and we were there last Aug. during Free Dining!). The bus transportation worked well and it's a definite plus to be picked up and dropped off first before POR - we almost always had a seat. In fact, some mornings the bus went directly to the parks without stopping at POR at all. The boat ride to DTD is a lot of fun (although they don't run in the rain). We loved it so much that when we booked our trip for this Aug. it was an automatic pick for us to return to POFQ.

Enjoy your trip - you made a great resort choice!:goodvibes

I like to hear that its a small resort. For some reason I thought it was big and spread out. There is nothing worse than having to shlep across a whole resort to get to your room at the end of the day. I was so excited to hear the positive reviews that I called my friend who is going with us last night and had to tell her all about it. Now I am in super excited vacation planning stage in which I annoy the daylights out of everyone around me until I go!

We just stayed there last week in Building 5 and really loved it. Beautiful grounds, good food court, and fun pool! The room was lovely and clean and bigger than I expected. I'd say if you are on the third floor, request a room near the elevator.

My wife's only complaint was that they didn't sell crocs in the resort shop. :)

WE'll probably stay somewhere else next time, but only because we want to try other resorts.
