If we stay at POFQ Easter week 3/31/10 to 4/11/10 - standard room rates
(we already have 10 day park hopper passes) and are 4 adults per dining (our kids are 17 and 14).....

AAA was about $2300 for the 11 nights with no meals

If we add the dining plan (CS, TS & snack), 1 day park tickets and trip insurance ($130 seems like a good deal) the cost is about $5300.

So it costs about $3000 more for food - is it worth it to get DDP :confused3

We can do breakfast early in our room. DD sometimes orders off the kid menu and sometime off the adult menu (she will be 14, but she is 4' 11", and can get away with ordering a kid sized portion of spagetti or chicken fingers - the size portion she would finish.

I know at Easter week there is an extra charge ($6 per person at TS meals - or $24 for each of our TS meals) - but DDP costs higher during Easter week anyway.

Maybe AAA rate is better for us and not do the resort package deal ?

I can't imagine you'd spend over $270/day on meals, which is what you'd have to do just to break even.

Thanks Rip - That is what I thought.

Unless a 'freebie' package comes out, I think paying for meals OOP is a good deal.

We can even do some quick breakfasts in our room on some mornings.
I did read that POFQ rooms have small refrigerators and if the gift shop sells small containers of milk - we can do cereal in our room in the AM.
That may save us some $$'s on food.

If we book HDD in advance we will even earn an extra $2 in DDRD's on our Chase Disney Visa card.

We have about $1500 in DDRD's right now and building about another $20 per month - so by the time we go to WDW we may have $1600 in DDRD's which could pay for most of our room.
Then our room would only be about $600 for 11 nights and if we spent about $180 a day on food (one CS & one TS per day) that would cost us $1980.
Plus the cost of plane (JetBlue) at about $1200 (maybe less).

Our total POFQ 11 night WDW vacation with transportaion and food would cost us about OOP $3780 ..... Not a bad deal ! :goodvibes thanks to Chase Visa Disney Dollars and an AAA rate at POFQ :thumbsup2
