Ok. I just booked POFQ for Feb. 2-9 for me, DH and DD (8). Are we going to love it? How about the bus situation w/ Riverside? Oh, and does anyone have experience with going in early Feb.? Are we going to be able to use the water park tix that were included in the package?

I know that's alot of questions but we are so excited. Can't wait. 95 days to go. :cool1:

Mom2daisy, you and your family will enjoy staying at POFQ. It has a small, intimate feel to it, and a romantic appeal, especially at night. The room decor is lovely. POFQ has one bus stop at the front of the resort and is not terribly far from even the most distant rooms. It is the first stop the bus makes in the POFQ / POR loop so you should not ever have difficulity getting seats on out bound trips. You also have the boat that goes to DD.

The pool is lovely and heated. Your DD will enjoy the serpent slide. As with travel anytime in the winter you take you chances with the weather. We have been there at that time of year numerous times and have experienced both warm and cold days equally. I believe the water parks have heated water as well. Someone may correct me if I'm mistaken!

The food court is adequate. Be sure to try the beineigts. You can stroll over or take the bus to POR right next door for a more expansive food court and Boatwrights Restaurant, both are fine, although the food court does get crowded at times.

Go and have a wonderful time! POFQ is one of our favorites!

Hi there. We stayed at POFQ this year from Feb 10-18. I doubt I will ever stay anywhere else. It is amazingly peaceful. I am an early riser thanks to my 4am work schedule so I would walk in the mornings sometimes. They have several fountains and courtyards to sit down in. Our check in was smooth, bags to our room quickly, maid service was great. My kids loved the pool and we never found it crowded. It is such a nice small resort that you never have to walk far for anything. Their food court was pretty good. And I agree with PP, those beignets are insanely good. We had DDP and every night I used my snack to get 3 of them. As for going in Feb. we didn't have the water parks pass, but the weather was in the high 70s the first few days we were there. By the end of the week, we were in winter coats so pack a variety. Most days we just layered and returned stuff to the locker after lunch at the parks. Have fun and enjoy POFQ!!

MOMTODAISY - Glad to see someone who is also staying at POFQ in February 2008. We will be there Feb.1 to 9. There will be eight of us including two grandchildren and two grandparents (we are a family gathering). We have stayed at POR two times. Having visited POFQ during those stays, we decided try it this time. The grounds are inviting and things seem very convient (only half the rooms that POR has). Maybe we will see you there. Can not wait for the next 94 days to pass so we can get out of the Pennsylvania winter season. :cool1:

We'll be there Jan 30 - Feb 5. You're going to love it. We've stayed there before great resort!!!!

I am not going to be one of those who gaurantee that you will love it here. Everyone has different tastes and expectations. Unfortunately when we went in April, I was expecting something totally different (like a nice clean room). It didn't help that our room was disgusting (mold on the shower curtain), broken wall tiles and a TV that didn't work. Took the front desk 3 days to fix/ replace our TV. I also thought the front desk CM's were extremely rude and the concierge desk was even worse. There was always a long line to ask the concierge anything- a handful of mornings I waited at least 30 mins to ask my question. There were other gripes with the place as well.

The bus situation with Riverside is less than to be desired. We found that most nights after the parks were closing, PO (in general) were the last ones to get buses, and with both resorts, there are alot of people. Usually there would only be one or two buses max to a time and there would be alot of time between them. We found our resort to be the last ones to get buses while all other people waiting for their shuttles were already departed. Most nights they would drop POR off first, making all the people on FQ go through all five stops at Riverside.

I won't say you will enjoy it or hate it as much as we did. All I can say is give it a chance and make your own assessment. We went having stayed at AKL in 2005 to a (what we thought) a far from spectacular moderate. I guess goes to show you can't compare apples to oranges. All I know from the last trip is that we won't ever stay at FQ again. That is definate.

I think you will love it.. Me and DD16 stayed there in September for the first time and I really enjoyed it..

Me and DH are planning on going back on a short trip with just us sometime next year and Im planning on staying at POFQ again so he can experience it..

It has a small homey feeling.. we ended up getting a room on the second story but it was a corner room so we had lots of windows.. I really liked the actual room.. I loved the 2 sinks too!!

The bus situation was nice too.. we were the first ones picked up and the first ones dropped off if I remember correctly.. we always got a seat which was nice..

We went last year to Epcot for 1 day as we happened to be in FL at my MIL's but it was just the one day.. I remember the day was really nice but it did get chilly later that evening..

Me, DH and DD9 are headed back to WDW for 9 days Jan 25- Feb 2 but staying at Allstar Sports.. so we'll see firsthand what its like to go that time of year.. Cant wait!

You will love it at POFQ!!!! We stayed there this past Feb (the first week) and had a fabulous time! The resort and grounds are sooo beautiful and it is a perfect size, nothing is far. But, it is still peaceful and quiet. The rooms are nice and mousekeeping was terrific. We were in Bldg. 5 on the third floor, in a corner room, and with a lovely view of a courtyard.

The buses were fine. Luckily they stop at FQ first and then go to POR. Trust me, it makes a difference. Even though you have to sit through the POR stops, at least you are sitting! Because when we stayed at POR the buses were terrible. It really makes a big difference that they stop and pick up at POFQ.

When we visit in Feb. we usually don't go to the water parks, but it just depends on the weather, which is usually chilly in the mornings and nights, but very nice during the day. You just have to pack both warmer clothes and summer clothes. We did use the pool one day, it was wonderful! Have a great time! :goodvibes

We've only stayed at DVC or Deluxe resorts except for our 12/05 trip where we stayed at POFQ. Having never stayed at a mod, I was concerned but DH wanted to do it because the price (it was our 3rd trip that year) was really good. I was pleasantly surprised. Things I liked were the small size of the resort, centrally located pool and hot tub and food court, easy walk to the bus stops, being able to get on the bus before POR guests did so there was always room. DH and I very much enjoyed the grounds and took walks every morning looking at all of the courtyards, river, fountains, strolled to POR a couple of times, etc. Very laid back and relaxing there.

My one complaint was the concierge line was always long. Other than that, I thought it was fine. Room was decent, resort was quiet except in the immediate pool area. I didn't mind the bus rides at all and I didn't mind in the evenings when POR guests were dropped off first. The buses always seem like your resort is last when you are waiting for that's not really true in most cases. We've stayed at many resorts there and I feel POFQ buses were the same as any other resort.

Oh yeah, we always go in the winter, Dec, Jan. All but one trip we did manage a day at a water park. Not every day will be warm enough but hopefully you'll have one day during your trip. The thing is that you can't put it off because of your "plan". If you have one warm day, you need to go that day as it might be the only day while you are there where the weather is comfortable.

We just got back Monday. LOVED staying at POFQ!

Most of the time when we took the bus to the parks in the morning, the bus was pretty full, so it didn't even make the stops at POR. I think we only stopped at POR twice during the whole trip. Coming back to the hotel, the buses were kind of a pain. It wasn't too bad coming back from MK, since they have separate buses to POFQ & POR, but we still had to wait while at least 2 buses came for the resort in the next bus line. Waiting to go back from the other parks was even worse. We were always the only HUGE line still waiting for a bus, while others were empty. I got hit in the head, shoulder, and legs more times than I could count on the buses back to the hotel since they were so packed, but I'm sure that would happen for any resort.

We took the boat ride back from DD once. It was nice, but much slower than the bus. Once was enough.

Just got back from 2 wonderful weeks at POFQ have nothing but praise. Small, quiet and pretty. Room 6207 Builbing 6 was quiet beautifully clean. our mousekeeping ladies were efficient and thorough. Food court good all our meals were hot and well cooked. Bus transportation good we never waited more than 5 minutes, my only request to the powers than be would be to put on a bus just for POFQ on busy Epcot nights , the only long wait we had was after Illuminations. If you have a hire car or can afford it take a taxi and park at Boardwalk and walk thru' International Gateway after it finishes.

Subscribing. I just booked FQ last night for a long weekend Feb 6-9. Just me and the kids. :crowded: I can't wait! With that being the week of Mardi Gras, I thought it bould be booked.

I've stayed there 2x but only for 1 night each. I did love it though, it's very beautiful and the boat to DTD is great.

We were at POR, but the bus situation was fine. Even being picked up after POFQ we didn't have any issues. You'll be first on and off so you should be fine. I think both resorts have their own bus at MK, but I could be wrong. We walked over to POFQ and found it to be a lovely resort. I think you'll love it! As for the weather in Feb., I've never been during that time but I would guess that it could vary alot. You can get a forecast right before leaving and get a better idea of what to pack and what you'll be able to do.

I think POFQ is Disney' s best kept secret! ( I know Disers will never tell) I have stayed in the DVC, deluxes, moderates, and values! I truly love this hotel. We go to Disney anywhere from 1 to 3 times a year! We are truly lucky I know! So we try different hotels because we could not afford deluxes all the time. So the times when the deluxes are not in the budget we always come back to POFQ. The resort is smaller than other resort and it is just a wonderful resort. The themed dragon pool is great especially with our Ariel fan in our family. The rooms are big, but not as small as the value. To me it has a magical feel to it , just like you expect when you come to Disney. Buses are usually great, I don't think we waited more than ten minutes and the Cm were so nice. Check out the pictures on Debs all ears! Have a great trip. If you have specific question please feel free to ask. We are going back next August!

We are booked for our first visit to POFQ in March. I can't wait!! It is our anniversary (25th) and we are going alone--no kids for the first time ever. It looks wonderful and we got tickets to the P & P party for March 11.

My husband and I (we are in our 50s) just made our first visit ever to DisneyWorld last month. We stayed at POFQ and really loved it. IF we ever go back, that is where we would stay again. We arrived the day before our reservation was to start and decided to just see where the resort was -- but the minute we pulled in the gate, we felt like we were home. There was just such a peace about the place, we didn't want to leave to go look for a room somewhere for one night. So we decided to check with the reservation desk and see if they could accomodate us for the night (and then switch us over to our reservation which started the next day). They could and they did. It all worked out so smoothly.

Everyone there was very nice. The grounds are very nicely landscaped. We were near the pool but never heard any noise from it. The food was sufficient. It wasn't gourmet, but it certainly was good enough. The busses were never a problem, even when we did go through Riverside. Returning from parks they were sometimes crowded -- but we chose several times to just wait for the next bus in order to sit rather than stand on a crowded bus.

During our stay we visited a few other resorts -- Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Riverside -- and we really woudn't have wanted to have stayed at any of them. POFQ just "fit" us perfectly. Yes, there were a few imperfections -- but that's going to happen anywhere. Nothing to really worry about.

I think you will be very satisfied there.

We are staying Jan. 23rd for 6 nights and we can't wait. We are DVC members and we have stayed at Poly and CR as well as CBR, CSR and Dixie Landings (when it was called that) and we are very excited about POFQ. We have heard a lot of good feedback on this resort. This thread just confirmed that.

We stayed Jan 28-Feb 3 and loved it...had no complaints...we stayed in bldg 4 and it was very convenient to the bus stop/lobby/pool....I would def stay there again and would have this time but we upgraded to AKL since it wasn't very much $$ difference to try it out...the bus system worked for us...first on first off...Have a GREAT trip!
