Just booked POFQ for December 2008...

tell me what we will love and what we won't. Any tips/advice...

I'm not changing because I am on a quest to stay at all resorts -- and I am completing my moderate level right now. Would love to see more pics?

I think you will be happy with the size of the resort. Because it is so compact, all of the buildings are within a 1-3 minute walking distance to the main building.

Here's what I loved about it.. I stayed there last September for the first time:

I loved the relaxing feeling of the resort. Because it's small you feel like you can just mosey around and take your time and you will never be in a rush to hurry to the food court because it's only a few steps away from your room!

I loved the pool and the slide. My dh and I went swimming most nights when we got back from the parks (early) and enjoyed the pool very much! We went down the slide quite a few times and just enjoyed relaxing ... I even had a few drinks poolside during the day which was nice, I usually never take the time to really enjoy the resort I'm staying at but this time we were able to.

I LOVED the boat ride down to Riverside and Downtown Disney. We only took the boat to riverside but it was still very nice and relaxing. I could see it being romantic as well if it was taken at night. Loved it!

We also enjoyed the horse drawn carriage rides!! You can catch one over at riverside and it was about $35 for a half hour I think. They took us over to POFQ and back to Riverside in that half hour.. very nice! We also walked along the river back to POFQ at night on the path which was nice as well.

The food court was fun and while we were eating one night the castmembers started a conga line for all the kids who wanted to join in ... honestly, I should have joined in but I didn't. That was just a fun touch to watch... these little kids having a good time parading around the food court with tamborines and noise makers.

Make sure you take some time to walk around and check out Riverside as well... at riverside they have a sit down restaurant, the store there is bigger and fun to just look around at, and they have a piano player who does a great show on certain nights of the week. ( can't remember his name right now).

I really love POFQ and the fact that you can use riverside's fun things as well.. like the bikes and boats. have a great time!!

POFQ is a great choice. The grounds are beautiful and the themeing is really nice. The resort is compact so most of the buildings are close to the food court and the bus stop. I love taking the boat to DTD, it is very relaxing and a nice perk.
The food court has a nice selection, I liked the food court at the POR better but the one at the POFQ is fine.
My mother loved staying at the POFQ (we stayed there 3 times) one trip I actually wanted to stay at the BC or the YC and she turned it down for the POFQ.
I do not know what your dates are, but the only downside might be is that from Dec 7th to the 13th there may be POP Warner teams at the POR and POFQ. The group can effect the crowds at the food court, the pool and in the evening the buses.

UGH! Those are my dates -- I got a code for the 7th through 13th -- we are leaving the 14th -- nuts. I hope the crowds are worth the discount. Are the POP Warner teams at all the moderates or do they stay only at POR or POFQ. I wouldn't have thought they would be staying at either of those 2 because they seem more romantic.

PO_FQ is my favorite resort. It's small and very well themed. The food court and pool are very nice. I love the boat to DTD and the busses to the parks pick up and drop off first.

We have stayed there several times in early December when Pop Warner is at Disney, and they don't stay at FQ only Riverside and the values. There has never been groups of kids at FQ during those times, and the resort is decorated beautifly. Don't hesitate to stay there then, and don't forget to bring things to decorate your room. We even bring strings of battery powered lights for the window.

Have a great time at PO-FQ and perhaps we'll see you at the world.

The choices that the POP Warner groups were given this past year were the Allstar Sports, the Allstar Music, the POR and the POFQ. I think in the past they were only given the POR with the over-flow to the POFQ, but that was not the case this year. I would suspect that their choices will be the same this year.
When were at the POFQ back in 2004, we had a few of the football teams at the resort the last day or so of our trip. And as I said they did effect the crowds at the foodcourt, and the pool in the evening and the buses in the evening.
Also, since the POR and the POFQ share buses, they will be on your bus a night.

POFQ is great. It has a very secluded hot tub, it's own bus stop to MK in the evening and don't forget about Scat Cats. Eliot Dyson performs there Wed-Sun. I'm sure you'll love it too.
