We are so excited!! We just booked a week at the "Fort" to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. It's been forever since we were there for a stay.
We are also booked for 2 nights in september for the annual "Pin Event". That is right at my birthday. There is no where else I'd rather celebrate.

We are booked for a site with just water and electricity. 1 question, what happens to our washing water? For dish washing only , and then nothing major. Does it just go out on the ground or what? Just don't want to get into trouble or anything.

Anyway, I can't wait to visit with so many dis campers. Maybe we'll see some of you.

Blessings,
Winnie

no. you should not dump your grey water "on the ground". The proper way to dispose of it is to dump it in a comfort station sink.

Imagine the hundreds/thousands of guests dumping soapy (at best) water on the ground year 'round. That would greatly impact the environment at the Fort.

Enjoy your trip and Happy Anniversary!

Ok sorry. But now I know what "grey water" is. I had no idea. We just got this camper. I'm gonna have to check and see if it has a tank to hold it. If I did, where would it be located? Anyone know?

Sorry for so many questions.

Blessings,
Winnie

If your camper has a sink then it has a holding tank! The outlet is usually on the left side of the trailer/RV, usually black and about 5 inches in diameter. If your camper has a toilet it probably has 2 tanks, 1 for the sinks (grey water) and one for the toilet (sewage). In a full hook up site you would connect this outlet to a flexible plastic hose and place the other end of the hose in the sewer access. In a partial site you just leave the water in the tanks until you leave. Then you stop at the dump station and use the same process as a full hookup site to empty your tanks. Obviously in the second scenario you need to be careful not to overflow your tanks before you leave or it could get messy.:scared: Occasionally I have camped where a septic tank cleaning truck can come and empty your tank part way through your stay, but I have never heard of this at the Fort. I have also never heard of dumping your grey water down the sink and I will make a note not to brush my teeth in a partial hook-up loop comfort station!:lmao:

Not the sinks in the restrooms...it's the basin in the laundry room that I've seen people pour their gray water and I doubt you will be brushing your teeth in the laundry basin. :)

Just wondering maybe you would enjoy the benifits of full hook up. If so you might call and see if they have anything available. If they say no just keep calling lots of times something will come up.

Sorry OP! I thought you meant you had a "tent" and were using a small hand basin to wash a few dishes....

Yes, if you have a sink, you have a tank. That tank can be dumped at the "dump station".. you'll see them on the map.

And, no... I didn't mean the regular "sinks".. I did mean the laundry sinks, or if in a pinch, I would dump into a toilet. sorry, I wasn't clear! :confused3

(but just gotta ask... if you're brushing your teeth... why does it matter what went down the DRAIN of that sink? Surely you're not letting your TOOTHBRUSH actually touch surfaces in a public bathroom... ick! :scared: As long as what comes out of the faucet is clean, and you keep everything else on a towel or paper towel, I'd think you would be pretty clean, regardless of whatever has gone down that sink in the past! hmmm.... now you've got me thinking about CS sanitation!)

Actually, most basic popups do not have holding tanks. We had an 05 Fleetwood Americana popup and there was no tank for holding grey water. It had a tank for freshwater and a hole where the grey water ran directly from the sink drain to outside. We would catch the grey water in a bucket (although you can buy holding tanks with wheels) and then send ds15 to dump it in the basin in the laundry room. Some people with popups will rent the full hookup sites just so they can hook their grey water up and not deal with it. If we did not have ds to send, we would have gotten a full site. LOL

happy anniversary !!!!! and have a great time!!!!!

Thank you all. We are so looking forward to it. And Lucas, next time you're at the World, Give Scoop Sanderson another chance. He truely is quite wonderful. He is a kidder and likes to joke and laugh alot. Perhaps your not quite used to that and read him wrong. He is very generous, friendly and very much what Disney is all about.

Blessings,
Winnie
