I can hardly stand it, but I just booked our room at the CR with the MK view! I'm scared, excited and thrilled, all at the same time! I booked for Feb 2008 and was only able to book the room and will cancel once the packages become available. But, there's a ressie with our names on it right now and we're just one step closer when the magic begins. Our CRO was fabulous - we talked for almost 45 minutes. She was wonderful, a great start to our first family WDW trip. I know you'll all understand the emotions associated with what I'm talking about. My family is like, yeah, mom, it's so far away, why are you so excited? But, DD11 did give me a hug after I told her. She's already saving her money. I don't like to wish my life away, but Feb. really can't come fast enough!

Here's to dreaming Disney tonight!:cloud9:

Woo-HOO and congratulations!! Our next trip, I have decided, will also be CR MK view! We stayed at the Poly in May (loved, loved, loved it!!!) but I'm oh-so-interested in seeing the fireworks from a private balcony every night :woohoo:

I hope you and your family have a magical time!! :wizard:

Thank you! When my parents first took us kids to WDW in 1977 we stayed at the CR. I thought I'd continue the tradition with my family. I'm so looking forward to the "private" fireworks displays at night and waking up with the castle in the morning. Can it get any better?

I know one way it can better. I can't remember if it's an even number or odd number, but I would try to request a room where the beds face Cinderella's Castle. So every day that would be the 1st thing you see when you wake up.

See, that's why I come to these boards...it's details like that that I would never think of...GREAT idea!

I'm so jealous!!!! That is my favorite room/resort I've EVER had! :cloud9: The only downfall of DVC, no CR tower rooms, unless I pay a lot of points or a lot of cash. :sad2:

Woo-Hoo!! That is truly exciting news!!! And I have to agree... that is the BEST view in all of Disney World. :) February will be here soon enough! Congrats!

We stayed one night last February in at the Contemp w/MK view. DH fell in love with the place. We have also stayed in WL and even concierge at GF (with a castle view). He STILL likes the Contemp room best.
Our room did not have the bed facing MK. But we still loved the room. You will have a great stay!

We too just booked a MK view at the Contemporary. We're going in the middle of November. Who do you need to contact about getting a bed facing the castle view? We were hoping to stay in a suite on the 14th floor but they were already booked. The first operator I talked to said they could call us if anything became available. We didn't book with her, but ended up calling back within an hour and talking to another operator. He said they couldn't honor requests like that. It was first come, first serve and that I would have to continue calling to see if anything came available. What other "hints" should we be asking for?

It must be the odd numbers because we were in 4636 and the bed was not facing the castle. I'd suggest getting there early, early if you want to request one. That way, even if you have to wait until the 3pm check in time, you still have first dibs.

Congrats! Have a great vacation.

Thanks for clarifying that it's the odd number rooms which face the castle. :thumbsup2

That's great! We have a Tower MK view booked again for Sept. Have fun!

That's Great! I too wanted to know what numbers faced the castle from my bed. My family trip is coming up in January, I can't wait!

I tried getting a tower room for our December 5-9, 2007 stay but they were all booked. Anyone have any experience with them being booked and later becoming available? Is it worth calling back or should I just book a garden building and be done with it. Our dates are not flexible. This is our seventh trip to Disney, but first time staying on property and we want the CR for the monorail and close proximity to MK.

I can't speak for December, which has become a busy time of year...but we tried for weeks to book President's Day week and one day it magically appeared online. Keep checking and when you see it - book it ASAP.

We had an odd numbered room on the 12th floor and the beds did indeed face the MK.

We loved the whole experience of being at the CR by the way - to the OP, CONGRATS!
