:cool1: Today I booked our restaurant reservations (California Grill, Manhatten restaurant, Walts and Blue Lagoon) for our trip plus I booked our guided tours. DH and I love learning about the parks on tours at WDW and are planning on booking on tours in the summer at Disneyland.

As there doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the web about the guided tours (the official website is of no use at all in this area!!) I thought I would share the info I got.

Both tours are on stage and do not include rides or shows. You go get to learn a lot about how the parks were developed and learn facts and secrets about the parks.
Tours are in either English language or French language groups.

Disneyland park tour:
Departs daily at 1pm and 2pm from city hall.
Tour length: 2 hours
Cost: 15 euros per person, free for children under 12.

Walt Disney Studio tour:
Departs daily at 11am and 3pm from Studio services.
Tour length: 1 1/2 hours
Cost: 12 euros per person, free for children under 12.

Tours can be booked at city hall during your stay or in advance by phoning VIP relations on 0033 164 74 21 26 or by emailing dlp.relations.vip@disney.com

That is great to know :thumbsup2

this is exciting news, I love tours! (and didn't realize it was an option)

Do you reserve your preferred language when you book? What would happen if we were the only English speaking people to book, would the tour then be conducted in French? (I suspect I would learn muuuuuucccchh less in this case:upsidedow )

When we booked we were asked to state the language we wanted the tour in. I guess they do 2 tours at the same time in English and French.

I've done both tours.:thumbsup2

I preferred the studio's one but think we had a great guide - I think he was an imagineer (plus it was free at one of the shareholders events).

They alternate the days French one day/English the next.We once tried to book in advance but it was like pulling teeth trying to find which tour was on.We ended up booking at city hall whilst we were there and ended up being the only two on the tour.;)

can anyone that's been on one give us info on what you get, i understand its about the parks, there's no behind the scenes or rides. any lunch? is the info not things you can get from the boards anyway (albeit better in the parks).

I've done Keys to the Kingdom in WDW and it was fantastic

The only behind the scenes part we got was to see a Star tours carriage from a secret viewing area.

I felt having read from Sketch to reality and being active on these boards I knew most of the park secrets so I wasn't that impressed with the Disneyland park one. However I've heard people that really liked it.I think the Cm makes a big difference and the one I had was very quiet.

I did really enjoy the studios one and found out a lot I didn't know :thumbsup2

The tours are really reasonably priced but don't include lunch or any rides (I can't say I expected them to)

We were offered a space near IASW to watch the parade afterwards though.:thumbsup2

We enjoyed our tour in the Disneyland Park in May 2006 and we had a very nice CM. She told us many thinks that I already knew but also some new things that you can not find in “From Sketch to…” ;)

Now with the ToT I would also like to do the Tour in the Studios.
