We've had the $99 7 day tickets since we returned in 2008, so that part is taken care of and now we have our Room booked. :cool1:
Two nights offsite...arrival and departure day and 4 nights on August 20-24. Got a SMSM rate of $263 for Deluxe Queen. I'm hoping when the APH rates come out it might go down and I can upgrade one of our tickets if it shows significant savings. I know it's going to be hot but with our oldest becoming a senior next year, and the middle son starting high school....I don't want to take them out during the school year...so August heat it is. Can't wait! Ok, just wanted to share my excitement! BTW this is only our second trip to Universal so I am sure I will have more questions :0) If you stuck it out this long, thanks

We always vacation that time of year. I too won't pull my kids outta schooll to go on vacation. I may do the same thing. Book the discount at PB and then see if an AP rate is better, buy me an AP, and the kids tickets at a discount. We love the heat. When you get soaked by the water rides, you are not cold. You don't need to pack alot of clothing and even at night, generally don't need a jacket. Everything is open. Generally lower crowds. No waits in restaurants. Easy parking at hotel.

We may be there the week after you. My kids loved Universal. DS (14) is a thrill ride fan, as well as DD (10). They both loved the Rocknroll coaster as well as the other coasters, and can't wait to to FJ again.

Our boys love thrill rides too but our youngest is the biggest fan! Unfortunately when we went in 2008 he wasn't even tall enough for The Mummy....I promised him we wouldn't go back until he was tall enough for everything! I can handle the heat....I would rather be hot than cold!

What are the ap rates? I am trying to figure out how to get the best deal on a trip to universal and the other parks with the flex ticket.
