We were thinking if driving this next trip we are taking. The thought of 24hrs in the car with my 4 wonderful kids made me scourer the net for cheap flights. I was able to find tickets out of Detroit(about a 3hr drive for us) for $168.00 per ticket. I then was able to get our van for 4 days from alamo for $200.00, and because we are coming in a day earlier we needed a hotel on the day arrive I found the residence inn near the airport for $112.00 for a two bedroom. I am pretty excited!!! I know over all it would have been cheaper to drive but my sanity is so worth it.

Glad you found a good deal for your family. Happiness is worth more than money sometimes. Having a smooth trip down will make the vacation that much more enjoyable for everyone! :thumbsup2

Congratulations!! We drove from PA for several years. With SW having excellent rates, we feel it's cheaper then driving. It's so nice to leave the "driving" to someone else. Have fun and enjoy your time at WDW!

Jetblue is driving me nuts. I'm going in December, and they only go as far as September right now!

Why don't they go out as far as the other airlines do? Don't they realize that if the others have a fare sale they loose a potential sale as most people buy based on price not airline?

The Visa ad would read - Driving to Disney with 4 kids:scared1: .... Flying instead - Priceless:rotfl:

:woohoo: :yay:  :dance3: :cheer2:

Boy, do I understand how you feel! My husband HATES to fly. I finally talked him into flying about 3 years ago, and we haven't driven since!!! :lmao: So glad you got reasonable flights for your family!

Yeah my point I emailed them and they are like, we are always changing flights etc etc.....

We have to take Jetblue, our 2 year old was a saint on it with the TV in the seats!

Thank you all for the well wishes. Driving down just made my want to throw up. I love my children, but they have never been in the car for longer then 4 hours. They would of drove my DH and I crazy before we hit the border of Michigan. When I told my girls last night they were so excited. We also save two days of vacation by flying and that alone makes up for the added expense. Those two days can now be used to see some of our daughters summer swim meets which happen on Thursdays.

Good luck with Jet Blue, I had been checking on Southwest and Alligiant Air but when I found the tickets on NWA, I couldn't pass up the deals and the miles we will get. My husband is silver elite and that will help with baggage fees, because he can take two bags without paying. Also those miles will help with the airfare for our October F & W trip.

We will be doing the same thing in Sept. for F & W, no kids. We have so much fun just slowly strolling around Epcot. We actually have uninterrupted conversations that last longer then 2 min.
