Just booked our 1st vacation and 1 question...

Hello...we are new members and just booked our first DVC stay in a 2 bedroom at Copper Creek! We are bringing my cousin and her husband and daughter. It is their 1st visit ever. How does it work on MDE? Is there a way to link their magic bands to their own credit card? We are giving them a free room...but not planning on paying for their purchases the entire week...lol.

When you check-in at the resort have them put a separate credit card on their room.

I haven't done it, but I'm pretty sure that you can do the same thing when checking in to the same room. Just have them set up their magic bands on their credit card.

You can have two (or more) separate cards for people in the same room, however from experience I can tell you to check the balances a day or two in to make sure the charges go to the right people. The first time we did it all of my sons charges went on my card, but I discovered it 2 days into the week and had plenty of time to have the charges corrected.

I know we did it where we were in the same room as another family (both at Disneyworld and Aulani) where they connected their credit card to their room card/magic band so we could keep things separate.

By the way, I hope you have a wonderful, memorable time with your family. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but I think it’s generous of you to bring them as guests. Personally, I have only had positive experiences, probably 20 of them over the years.
