Just Booked...only 15 days out

Okay, call me crazy but I just booked a 5 night stay at All Star Movies. We will be arriving on March 4 and leaving on March 9. My DD will be celebrating her 5th birthday (March 7) at the MK. The best part is that she does not have a clue. My DH and I are going to surprise her. We plan on telling her on our way to the airport!!

I am super excited!!

Hopefully we can keep the secret for two more weeks.

I am a little worried, we don't have ADRs and we don't have a real plan as to what we are going to do each day.
But I have to admit, the freedom of not having a plan feels pretty good.

Luckily, we had airline credit to use and APs.

So excited!!

I did this exact thing with my daughter and the day we were leaving I told her we were going to wish our friends off for their trip but when they got there and they pulled out their boarding tickets they had one with my daughters name on it and she was totally surprised. And it was also one of the best trips. Even though planning is fun, as we all know, winging it is awesome as well. Have a wonderful trip.

I am new to these boards (but not to Disney) and just did the same thing! It was DS2's 15th birthday yesterday and we didn't do anything giftwise. The two of us love all things Disney, and I've been itching to get away for a short, warm winter break. So, after talking to DH today (he can't get away nor can DS1), I booked late this afternoon - departing 2 weeks from tomorrow for 4 nights (3/5-9)! Woo hoo! I did tell son today as he is at the age to really help with the planning.

Should be a blast - usually I plan months ahead of time so it is freeing and nerve-racking at the same time. One of the reasons I'm here is to quick get updated dining reviews and make some ADR's. This is the first time we will be at Coronado Springs.

We planned our first trip on a few weeks notice. It went great. We did make some ADRs but had no real plan.

Wow! Nothing like a last minute trip.

A few years ago, my sister's boss came back from a trip to WDW and was telling Dsis about it. Sis calls me and tells me about it and the next thing you know we're planning a trip. We started talking about it on a Thursday and that following Tuesday we were on the road!!!

The whole drive over there we kept saying "What are we doing?" "We are crazy!"

When we got to Disney, the brochures for that month had a little boy squealing on the cover and the words "Can you believe you're really hear?" We kept the brochure!

We talk about that trip all of the time!!!

I used to take trips with my sister all the time. Not so much anymore, since we live about 700 miles apart. But your story made me think of her and maybe planning a trip somewhere together. But where could we go? When is my AP good until ...

We will be there when you are! What an awesome surprise! Oh man, you know what I'd do if I were you, I'd tell her you are going to visit your friend or something or if you have out of town relatives, and not even mention it until you are at the airport getting on the DME bus or pulling into the gates at WDW! If she is too keen to pull it off, maybe tell her when the plane lands.
