Just booked my flights!

I just booked my flights for our June 2012 Disney trip. I got a price of $150 each ticket. I think that is pretty good. I noticed I was able to pick seats going to Orlando but it wouldn't let me pick seats going back. Any reason why that would be? The airline is through Continential. I have three little ones and would really like to be sitting next to them.

I noticed that I have also been given a reservation number through United as well. I logged into the United website and was able to pick my seats on my return flight. I than logged back into the Continental website and all my seats are assigned for going to Orlando and my return trip. It looks like that worked.

With the two airlines merging this year, you now get res#s for both airlines. By the end of the year most airport counters will be combined. Some are already converted in the hubs.

It sounds like your flight to Orlando is operated by Continental and your return flight is operated by United. When you are on the opposite website, it usually doesn't bring the seatmaps up.

You are correct that Continental flights don't bring up United seat plans ... however, when I purchased on Saturday, a seat plan came up for a UA flight. I was surprised. My problem was that I was able to pick 3 out of my 4 tickets with seats, but not my youngest child (which made my wife nervous).

I did get the seat using the suggestion of going through United.com. Clearly something on continental.com has been changed to get at united seat plans; however, it does seem to have a minor glitch. I think they must be getting close to having one booking engine on the internet?

Usrtyz, can I ask which airport you are flying out of? We are looking to book a June '12 trip out of Minneapolis/St. Paul. We have to wait till the end of this week to book due to the return date of our trip, but checking various dates that same month is usually around $230.

We are flying out of O'hare. We live in the Madison area. I wanted to get a nonstop flight with three small kids who have never flown. And flights out of O'hare were actually much cheaper.

Thanks for sharing this info. This happened to me this year when I booked back in March for my upcoming August trip. I am starting to notice more people are booking with airlines other than JetBlue, Southwest and AirTran. This year, I also found a great deal using Continental. Of course Southwest flights went down AFTER I booked with Continental, but I am looking forward to flying another airline this year. But I am NOT looking forward to baggage fees

Yes, $150 non stop, round trip! I booked my flights right on the Continental Airlines website this past Sunday. I leave ORD at 9am and get to MCO at 12:35 pm on 6/9/2012. We return on 6/19/2012 leaving at 9am and get back to ORD at 10:57 am. I'm happy with the price as it would cost us a little over $400 to drive from WI. And I got a great deal on a Budget rental mini van with the offer code that is from Travelocity.

They have added UA seat map functionality to Continental.com, but it's not yet perfect.

The reason they've added it is because Continental.com will likely be the surviving website after the merger (well, it'll move to United.com, but you know what I mean)
