Just booked my dining plan TS meals, question on availablity????

Hi,

I just booked all of my Table Service Meals for our June 2006 trip.

I called Disney Dining and said I wanted to book some dinners for June.

I was asked if I had the dining plan and I said yes.

When she looked for the times and dates that I wanted with each one, she said "oh, there seems to be one more table left for dining plan, I better hurry up and grab it"

I am booking for a party of 6, but I found it hard to believe that each reservation that I wanted she got me the last table for AND she noted that it was the last Dining Plan Table that was available.

Which brings me to my question.

Do they only take so many reservations for people who are using the Dining Plan vs people who are just going to be paying their bill with cash???

So if I didn't have the dining plan would there have been more reservation available??

When it came to booking my one restaurant I wanted a 7:00 p.m. time and she said she had 7:20, when I asked what the time would be before 7:00 that I really need that time, she said "oh, wait, I belive I missed something, yes there is room for your party on the dining plan at 7:00"

I got everything I wanted and the times I wanted, so I am very happy.

This coming June will be our 2nd trip, and the 2nd time using the dining plan. I made our advanced reservations the first part of December, and I don't recall even being asked if we were using the dining plan. I don't know if they just knew that from my phone number or not. Even being on the plan I still had to use a credit card number for the Princess Storybook Breakfast, we really liked Cindy's but it isn't worth two table credits.

When i made my ressies yesterday they asked me if i was on the dining plan and she ask me if certain meals i was paying oop and she noted that on my ressies too.

When I made our July ADRs she never asked if we were on the dining plan. I was worried that maybe the new CM could have messed up, but I checked today and my ADRs are there!

I made mine the other night and was told nothing about the plan. She did ask for my Phone #, Last and First Name, and said you are using the dinning plan correct. She was just reading back my trip confirmation to make sure everything was right. She even knew it was just DH and I. We got all of our times but one and had to move it ahead by 10 mins.

I would be disapointed to hear that they only allocated a certain number of tables to be used with the dining plan...The object of the dining plan is to give those who participate more choices..it would seem that this would just limit choices...

We are going in June 2006 as well. I called 3 weeks ago to make our ressies and they did ask if we were on the dining plan which we are. I made all of our ressies around 5:00 and only had to bump one up to 5:15 and back one back to 4:30. I also thought how strange that they were out of 5:00 times 6 months in advance.

They do not have different reservations for those with or without the dining plan. I think the reason you had such a hard time finding availability is the size of your party. It is also hard to get reservations for 2. Most tables seat 4 and a few restaurants have larger tables for bigger parties but they are very limited.

Everyone who makes a reservation is scheduled by availablity alone. They ask you if you are using the dining plan so that they can tell you if any special circumstances arise (i.e. CRT needing 2 TS credits PP and needs a CC hold, children must order from children's menu, etc.)
