Our summer trip will have many firsts. Our first stay at our home resort AKV, our first with an Owner's Locker, and now our first ever Keys to the Kingdom tour! Just booked it. I was ready with my member number to get the DVC discount, until the CM asked if i had a Disney Visa. I said yes, and that actually gives a 20% discount. The DVC discount is 15%.

DW and I can't wait!

Thats great
I just booked DM and DsF a room for a few days during our July trip . We will be starting at BWV and switching to AKV and then they will be coming in for most of that stay.

Really can't wait to check out 2 more NEW resorts for us.

I'm thinking of Booking the FW segway and maybe the Epcot one as well. DD is taking a friend for the first time as well.

For as many times as we have been it is exciting to have a bunch of Newnest in an up coming trip.

Our tour guide was Aaron - he was terrific!

The Keys to the Kingdom tour does what, exactly?

Here's a brief overview from the DIS:
Keys to the Kingdom: Your “key” opens the doors behind the formation of the Magic Kingdom. You’ll feel as if you’re walking in Walt Disney’s footsteps as your tour guide shares stories of the “man behind the mouse.” You’ll learn of what led to the parks creation and the vision that inspires its continued growth. Both backstage areas and attractions are visited during this tour. Lunch at Columbia Harbour House is included. Large bags and cameras are prohibited. You must be 16 for the tour and it requires park admission.

I was surprised too when we booked our Backstage Magic Tour that the Disney VISA discount was better than the DVC one. I sure was glad I asked if they had any other discounts. That tour was the highlight of our last trip.

The Keys to the Kingdom tour is by far the best tour that we've done on our many trips. there were many surprises on the tour (I won't give them away) and our guide was awesome! our next favorite tour was the backstage safari at AK.

If you enjoyed Keys to the Kingdom, be sure to try the Backstage Magic tour. It lasts all day and shows behind the scenes at MK, EPCOT, and MGM. There are a number of other special visits to places like the wardrobe department, the Christmas Shop, etc. Plus you get a fabulous all you can eat lunch at Mama Melrose. I won't ruin the ending of this tour. But it definitely brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks for the tip Eva, I will have to try that on my next trip. I figure that starting with Keys is the way to go. I don't think that i could convince DW to go on an all day tour just yet. But I hope that after Keys, she will be very interested in doing another one.

I've always wanted to book this!

Let us know what you enjoyed about this.

ahhh..so it's similar to the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour at DLR
Thanks!

Why has my GCV logo disappeared??

Actually, it's not similar to Walk in Walt's Footsteps at all. Walt's Footsteps (and I've been on that tour twice) doesn't take you backstage, which Keys to the Kingdom does.

I tried to book Backstage Magic last year, The Concierge at the WL asked me if I had Disney Visa, so that I could get the 20% discount. The tour happened to be full, but I have it booked for May. I have reported the discount on a few threads. Have a great time. :thumbsup2

Ok, that's good to know,. Looks like it would be fun to do

How far out can you book this tour - I've looked everywhere but can't find out the answer. Thanks.

:thumbsup2
