So I did it. After much thinking and reading what my disfriends said and encouragment (lots of it) from DH, I booked the 4/3 deal for HNY. My baby is turning 1 at DLP :Pinkbounc I asked what special thing they have for birthdays and was told of a birthday party they have with the characters. It was 18 euros/pp for me and DD4, the other two were free. Has anyone ever done this?? Was it fun?? Worth the money??

great news,
I have not done a tea party however would love to for my dd. her birthday is in January so not sure if we ever will.

I think it will be a fantastic way to celebrate, you will get some great memorable photos of your baby's first birthday, it will be so special.

Some people on here have had birthday meals at cafe mickey which sound great fun.

hi we have recently returned from DLP and my little one turned 4 there so we pre-booked dinner at cafe mickey and the birthday cake, which was fab. the cake as bought out by the charcters who were singing and clapping and had her up dancing and us and spent lots of time with her. where have you booked your birthday party to be?

If it's the "Plaza Gardens Birthday Party" as opposed to the "Plaza Gardens Character Tea" which both take place at the same time, the Birthday Party is more expensive but you also get a Birthday Gift and of course the Birthday cake. :goodvibes
The character tea is very nice, very child orientated, we've had a Character Tea there twice and it was good fun and we saw other kiddies have parties - I'm sure it will be perfect. :)

Thanks Jill. This is more for my older DDs. I highly doubt that the birthday girl will actually remember any of it! :)

and you will also have ;lovely memories of your babys first birthday :)

We've had the character tea in Plaza Gardens and :) loved it. There were children celebrating their birthday at the same time who got a goody bag with a plush Mickey and a card which the Characters all autographed on the day. The birthday children also had their tea on china plates whereas the tea party people got disposable ones. You'll love it.

A word of warning about the tea party! We (stupidly!) thought that tea would involve sandwiches etc but it is only cakes, cookies and more cakes with the odd token piece of fruit thrown in. This was ok but it meant that we then had to eat 'properly' elsewhere.

This was our experience of the Tea Party, (can't say I minded too much - I've a very sweet tooth), but others have reported differently lately with a selection of savoury food on the tables too. :)
