I just booked the FW Cabins w/free dining for Aug 24-30. Please tell me wwill be happy!!!:worship: We have never stayed there before and we thought it might be fun....:confused3 Any infor would be great and pictures too!!!!!:)

Cabins are our fav when the whold family is going. Quiet and charming, kitchen is great, only draw back for us is the single bathroom.

Lots of people swear by a golfcart. In all our visits over the last 33 years, we have never rented one, and never felt the need to have one. We also found the bus system very effective, although it may take a day to figure it out to start!:)

We always have one night for the movie and campfire. You can also see the water parade from the dock. The boat back and forth to MK is great!

We love the cabins!!! The campfire singalong is a blast and the grounds are wonderful! My children loved the extra room outside, and the whole place is just fun to hang around! One trip when we were staying on property in a hotel, even when our children were in their 20's, they made us spend a whole afternoon/evening there. We got pizzas and paper plates and sat on the picnic tables and laughed and remembered fun trips past, old ball teams, funny team mates, and as always.... funny things they had all said throughout their LONG lives :goodvibes !!! A golf cart is fun for night rides, but is not really a must!! The boat ride to MK is great, and we really love the stores at the campground best! They have tons of cute things!! The parade on the water at night is fun, and if you can bring bikes, or rent them. It is just so much fun and so relaxing :) .

Never stayed there, but we've gone to Trail's End and Hoop De Doo. Very pretty resort----but very dark at night. One night we came out of Trail's End from dinner and it was downright spooky. My husband said if we ever stayed here one year, he'd make sure he brought along a small flashlight.

i havent stayed in the cabins just the campgrounds. the golf carts are fun to have (we usually get them for a day or 2 when we have a "rest" day) and you can have a great time with them. my biggest problem with the cabins is the pool or lack there of. I feel its like getting the deluxe hotel but without the theme pool or HOT TUB.....thats probably what stops me from considering the cabins this year instead of driving the motorhome down (6mpg 2600 miles round trip$$$$$) it would be cheaper for the bunch of us to stay in the cabins.

Our family of 6 stayed there in Sept. The only things I didn't like were that there was only 1 bathroom and that there were only a few very small drawers for clothing...living out of suitcases was not fun! We have a pool at home and since the pools there are nothing special, we didn't use them. Thery were not very crowded whenever we went by. We rented a golf cart and would not stay there without one...instead of getting on and off 2 buses, we drove to the main bus stop, boat stop and were on our way. It was also nice to use to go to the shops (which did have lots of cute stuff) and to do laundry. The cabins were one of the cleanest rooms we have had at Disney. We also enjoyed the food at Trail's End. You will have a great time!

We stayed at the cabins with my nephew and his fiancé three years ago. We loved it. the only problem we had was with the double bed in the BR. I move around a lot and kicked DH out of the bed. He slept on the bunk beds and said they were most uncomfortable. We rented a car (we always rent a car) but my nephew kept different hours than us and they had no problem with the bus system. We would stay there again if the price was right. :goodvibes

We love the cabins and the campground, have stayed there twice.

As with another poster, our only problem is the double bed in the bedroom. Dh and I can sleep together in a double bed but the problem we have is one side is up against the wall so it's hard for the person on that side to get in and out of bed.

We decided that next time DH and I will try out the murphy bed in the living room and give the kids the bedroom. They have slept in the bunks and were ok, since they are 7 and 11 yrs. The kids really like the murphy bed too so I'm sure we'll get some resistance about throwing them out of it :)

The cabins are great! Here's the layout of the cabins:

We love the FW cabins. Our only regret about buying DVC is that we don't stay there anymore! We never rented a golf cart and thought we did just fine without it. But if it fits into your budget, it could probably save you some waiting for the internal busses. Allears.net has pictures of the cabins and if you check out the camping board on this site, it has some great info too.

Maybe I am wrong, but looking at your signature it looks like you have 6 children plus you and your DH. The Cabins only sleep 6. If you are a party of 8 you would need 2 Cabins.
When we stayed there we loved them. It was great to have the extra room, and we loved having the full kitchen. Although we didn't cook in, the fridge was great for snacks and breakfast food.
Have a Good Trip.
