We've stayed just about everywhere....but never at Hojo!

I just book the AP rate for a Kids Suite ($99) for November! I'm a little concerned about the noise though since these rooms all face the freeway in Building 1. Thoughts?

I've always read such rave reviews here about this place, so we're finally giving it a try! Oh, and, I think my kids (5 and 6) are more excited about the bunk beds then they are Disneyland!

:cool1:

We just stayed in a Kids suite last week for 4 nights. I didn't think that the traffic noise was bad at all, sort of like white background noise.

Thanks for the info. I'm really excited about this trip.....and we just got back from DL last week! :lmao:

My thoughts are just out up with the freeway noise, it really isn’t THAT bad, besides you’re at that hotel to go to Disneyland cause it’s close! Plus the hojo has a GREAT pool area. And you are going to have an amazing time! :YAY:

Bring a white noise machine. We picked ours up at WalMart for around $20. You can probably find them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or a Linen's and Things. I haven't checked Target - but you could try there, too.

They are small (about the size of a clock/radio) and fit in luggage very easily. We travel with ours all the time and it blocks out most hallway noise and/or noisy neighbors.

Congrats on booking HOJO's!! I booked them for our trip Feb/09, and we loved them. The kids still talk about the pirate play area, and they have a return customer in us. Am staying there for my solo trip in Oct, and again in Feb/11 for a surprise family trip. You are going to really enjoy your stay, and have a great time!

Great idea :thumbsup2

DH and DS are pretty hard sleepers, so I doubt they will notice. I tend to be a light sleeper and I've heard some pretty bad reviews about the traffic noise. Then again, I work in an office that faces the freeway, and the traffic noise doesn't bother me at all, so I think I will be okay. Plus, we are TIRED after we leave the park!!

Booked my first trip at the Hojo for October. Got the Entertainment rate, which was a huge money saver. I can sleep thru anything, so not worried at all about the traffic noise. Looking forward to it!

We stayed in a Kids' Suite last fall and found the traffic noise to not be an issue at all. It was very noticeable the first 10 minutes or so, but after that it was white noise. The kids never noticed it at all. We loved our stay there. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip - we love Hojos and I hope you will too. We don't have enough family members to need to book the kid's suite, but they look really cool! :cool1:

We stayed in a kids suite last month and absolutely loved it. From here on out we won't stay anywhere else! It was that great! With that being said, the freeway noise bothered us a lot. We didn't mind it at all during the day, but night was a different story. We live in an extremely quiet neighborhood, and we're used to sleeping in silence. So the freeway was pretty tough for us to block out. We used earplugs, and that helped, but I find earplugs uncomfortable, so sleeping was not great. We were also on the 7th floor, and I think it may be louder up there than down on the lower floors because the lower floors are down behind the freeway wall which may help block some of the sound. In the future I will request a room on the 1st or 2nd floor, in the hope that the wall will help block some of the noise. But still, like I said we loved the room set-up, and the HOJO so much, that we are willing to endure the noisy nights.

I think you'll love the room and the hotel, but if you're a light sleeper, maybe pack some earplugs :thumbsup2

We are staying at the Hojo for the first time in December. We LOVE the Candy Cane so this will be new for us. I have a feeling we are going to love it. We are currently booked in a Deluxe room but are considering the upgrade to the Kids Suite.
