DH would croak if he knew how much it was costing...but I went ahead and booked 6 nights in the CR tower today for next November....went thru AAA because they had the only room discount available now...it only wound up being 10% (I thought it was going to be 20% for the first week of November ought to be Value Season I thought....but alas no)

We had several leftover days on old park hoppers from previous visits, so I booked 6 nights of room with dining plan and just got 1 day MYW passes for each of us...that way we could get the dining plan and use up the old tickets and the extra day will let us do the parks every day of the trip (just have to remember the 1 day MYW passes will not let us park hop so we will have 1 day when we need to stay at one place)

The agent assured me if a better rate code became available she could switch it over for me without charging the $50 change fee. But I will have to call her to request it, they won't do it automatically.

By going through AAA the deposit is only $200, but balance is due 45 days prior to check in....oh well at least I won't be dreading the credit card statement AFTER vacation!!!

We will be in the Tower (12th floor) in December. We got the AAA rate, but still, with it being the 12th floor, it may be a bit over our budget. Can I ask you what your room cost with the AAA rate?

Well according to my somewhat deficient math skills the room only, with the AAA discount came to about $369/night including tax for a regular tower room (not concierge)... we did 12th floor once and decided it was not worth the extra $70/night it was costing for us....the continental breakfast was fine, but not much else was offered except soft drinks and cookies later in the day. We got a complimentary upgrade to 14th floor once and it was incredible.... but the rooms on 12 were exactly the same as lower floors (larger rooms, larger bathrooms and HUGE balconies on 14)....and for $70/night it was easier to run down to the food and fun place and pick up breakfast for the kids... but a lot of people really like it....if you find a better room rate let me know!!

SB in KY,

So because you only purchased the myw for one day, Is that the only day you get dining benefits or can you pay for as many meals as you'd like?

cmonroe:
if you buy ANY MYW tickets you are eligible to book the dining add on, but the dining MUST be for the same # of nights as your hotel reservation....so since I booked 6 nights at the resort I had to do 6 days of dining, you may buy tickets for any number of days (more or less ot the same number of days as your stay).

At first I thought I had to buy tickets for the entire length of our stay to get the dining plan...but since we had 5 days of left over hopper tickets we only needed one more day of tickets...but I found out on this board you can get tickets for any number of days (and we only needed one), and if you buy tickets and room you can add on the dining plan. The dining plan is tied to the room reservation NOT the length of tickets....so it has to be for every member of your party for the entire length of stay...which actually suits me fine...I get to use the left over tickets and eat myself into a coma all at the same time!!!
