I just booked the California Grill for June 12!! We had dinner reservations for Liberty Tree Tavern but I just wasn't excited about this reservation. I kept hearing how great the sushi is at the CG so I decided to check and we have a 9:25 pm reservation!!!! This will be our first time to eat there and the menu looks fabulous!! :cool1:

What do you suggest we try?? :confused3

Is the sushi covered under the dining plan and how much of it do you get with the meal?

The pork tenderloin is A MAZ ING!!! I've gotten it both times we went to CG and I loved it both times. Be forewarned that it's very rich though! (it was our waitress's fav too :goodvibes)

After trying most of the entrees here, I think that the sushi is the best thing to get. I cannot answer regarding the dining plan because we dislike the plans and don't use them.

The flatbreads are also very good here. I usually get sushi and a salad though. I have also had the pork, the duck and the steak. The sushi is much better.

Oh you are going to LOVE California Grill....it is our favorite restaurant on property. With that said, DH and I always gets the Filet of Beef, it is awesome. For an appetizer, my DH always gets the goat cheese ravioli (which he is in love with) and I always get whatever soup that is in season. Then of course I have to have dessert....I try a new one each time we go. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it, but we have to wait until September before we can go back....not going this upcoming trip.

Above the food, is the view, that's what makes CG so good IMO, the food is not better, no worst then most of the other Signature Restaurants. If you can get reservations about 45 - 60 minutes before Wishes, that is the best time!

The last time we were there we had the Lobster Risotto - I could have had a bigger portion for my dinner it was good. The Goat Cheese Ravioli was also delicious. For the main course we had the scallops and the Filet - so good. Talking about it is making me hungry. We are not big sushi eaters - it is really the only thing we don't eat but everyone raves about it there. We also had the best service ever last time. He seemed to know when to come to the table. It was phenomenal!!! You are going to love it.

When are the fireworks that night? I always try to get an ADR about an hour to an hour and 1/2 prior.

For the person who asked about the sushi - I don't think its on the DP. Maybe the Deluxe DP.

Enjoy!

The sushi is good but if you want better - go to DTD at Wolfgang Puck. Seats at the Sushi counter are first come first serve and we have never been disappointed there.

At Cali - we've also enjoyed the flat breads as well as the fillet - which was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife.

The bad point lately has been the fact it's gotten really loud and often has a lot of kids (teens) for dinner. The first time we went it was more intimate than it was the last two times.

The best part thought is to schedule dinner around the time of wishes. Then if you have a seat by the window - you can watch or if not, you can go outside to see the fireworks.

I think it's possible that you can order sushi as your entree on the basic dining plan. You will not get an extra portion though. The prices are less than the regular entrees and remember, you're spending 2 credits.

On the deluxe you can order any of the sushi as an appetizer except for the Snake in the Grass or Yoshi's Deluxe Platter. Those two can only be ordered as entrees.

We were underwhelmed with the sushi at CG, very disappointing. For us the sushi at Tokyo Dining and Kimono's is much better :thumbsup2

I had the pork based on reviews and recs from posters on here. It was delicious, and i'm not a big pork eater!! My favorite part, however, was the creamy polenta. OMG it was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted! Our waiter was fantastic, too. He recommended some fantastic wines for my mom and I. View was unreal, as well!

I agree with other posters that the pork with polenta is the best! I have never gotten anything else because I know I love it.

We eat at CA Grill nearly every trip, and my DD always has the Tuna 3 Ways and the pork tenderloin. I choose various items, but some of my favorites are the Spicy Kazan roll, any of the flatbreads, and just about any appetizer that I've tried!
