Originally we planned to from 11/28-112/4 at AKL. Went for room only using 40% off PIN to FD. That saved us at least $500!
However, every time I looked at airfares they were outrageous! I thought I could find something for the 4 of us for around $1000.00 RT. BUT, when I first checked it was about $1090.00. My mom said to hold the fares will go down. No I believed her, since she is a avid traveler. HA! The same fares went up to $1300.00.
I was thinking we would HAVE to downgrade to a Mod if things didn't get better.
Well, today, I had a thought.... I knew we couldn't change our leave date, but we can arrive earlier. Well, as Mickey says, "Hot Dog!"
I was able to get a $99 flight down and a $99 flight back! Even with adding room only at a value for one day I saved about $300!!
I can't believe I got a flight for all 4 of us RT for $950.00!
And we get to start out trip one day earlier.
What's even better, staying at AKL is a surprise for DD. It will make the surprise even better when we arrive at Pop and then the next day magically go to the AKL!
