I just booked 2 nights at PPH (Aug. 29 - Aug. 31) for our 28th anniversary! So excited!

We've stayed at DLH and GCH many times -- this time we've decided to give PPH a try. We are hoping to get assigned a king bed room. Anyone stayed in a king bed room?

I guess I'm looking to fellow Dis'ers to give me some tips and info about what you like best about staying at PPH... What's the easiest/fastest route to get to the parks?

TIA!

I love PPH. (I usually book the upper level theme park view rooms though). I will be there in 2 weeks for D23.

The fastest way to the parks is to cross the street and cut thru the GC lobby. You can also head into DD and take the monorail into DL, but we usually do not do that. (Sometimes we take the monorail back to DD, if we happen to be near it in the park when we decide to leave.)

Never had a king room, I never asked for one, as I am usually there with my son, or a friend, and want the 2 beds.

We've stayed in a king bedroom, theme park view. Floor 15 of 15, room 1500 right on the corner. Perfect view of World of Color at all performances and the music pipes into the room via your TV. You'll get a nice comfy bed and a couch that we used to set out clothing. There's a desk with two chairs but we only used those to watch WOC.

We did concierge - worth the upgrade. Not only can you "rent" unlimited disney movies for free (we watched 8 over the course of 2 days), you also get all you can drink wine and appetizers during happy hour and take them back to your room. No need to pay for dinner. You also get breakfast and unlimited sodas too!

My favorite part was the bathroom. The rotating showerhead was a treat.

You're going to have so much fun. Take the glass elevator once to the top floor and pretend you're in the Willy Wonka movie. It was really fun!

We love staying on-site, and Paradise Pier is usually the cheapest option. The rooms are big and bright. I think the standard rooms are the biggest of the three Disney hotels. Your room will either overlook DCA, the pool, or the parking garage. We got a free upgrade to a theme park view room the first time we were there....it was amazing. The second time, we overlook the pool, which was fine....can't get lucky all the time. Quickest path to the parks is through the Grand Californian. Don't use the private entrance in the Grand first thing in the morning....the line stretches through the Grand's first floor and takes forever. Cut through the Grand's lobby, enter Downtown Disney at the halfway point, get through bag check, then line up at the main entrances. Takes about 10 minutes to walk there from Paradise Pier Hotel.

Thanks for the replies! I'm really excited about staying at PPH! We're planning on upgrading our hopper passes to APs and decided that we're going to add another night to our trip too!

We never cut through the Grand when we stayed in January just took the back exit out of the park crossed a little street between parking lots and entered the back of downtown Disney by Earl of Sandwich. I did not feel like this was a long walk and we had two kiddos with us so I can only assume it would be quicker without.

I second the idea of upgrading to concierge, We absolutely loved it! We weren't around the hotel for the evening snacks and drinks but being able to have a good breakfast before the parks opened in the morning was huge. Plus we always got some bottles of water/juice boxes and some fruit for our day in the park.

OMG that elevator gave both my wife and I a serious case of the willies. :) 15 flights of stairs with luggage, heck ya if it was a choice of only that elevator and the stairs.

We stayed and loved it. My only wish was that it was more Disney themed. It was very nice and being on site was great!
