So after reading other people's posts about booking "room only"reservations for 2021, since we had our cancelled June vacation for this year, they booked a "21 return basic package". Which I think is basically the room reservation with a $200 deposit. I'm not entirely sure how to then add in dining / tickets or make it a package once the packages are released ? I know others have also booked this, so I'm hoping you maybe got better information than me on how this works....

Is this something that really we're just going to book the package and cancel this part ? And if so, does the $200 get refunded or transferred to the new package? this is completely unchartered territory for me, so I would appreciate any / all expert advice ! thank you in advance !! ❤ ❤

I booked a BB this past December as a "basic package", which I assume is the same as what you have booked. Even though you booked just the room at this time, it's actually a package and follows package rules, meaning the balance is due 30 days prior to arrival rather than at check in. I'm not sure if tickets and/or DDP can be added online or if you have to call, but you should be able to add them without having to cancel/rebook. Hopefully others will be able to verify that or correct me if I'm wrong :flower3:.

A "basic package" is, essentially, a room-only reservation with package terms and conditions - $200 deposit, balance due 30 days prior to check-in. The beauty of the basic package is, it allows you to very easily add tickets and/or dining without having to cancel a room-only and re-book a package. Once 2021 package components are released in a few months, if you would like to add tickets and/or dining, you can simply call WDW (or your TA) and add the components. You can try doing the modification online, but, if that doesn't work, you can call and the phone CM can add them for you.
