I just booked a 2 bedroom, boardwalk view, non-smoking

I never thought at the time but should I have requested an upper floor? Does the canopies from the shops below hinder your view to the boardwalk?

Thanks for the replies

We have stayed on 2nd floor and had no problems with the awnings obstructing the view. Some rooms have a solid wall rather than railings on the balcony, and that can mean that you need to stand up in order to see down on the boardwalk (but these balconies also have an overhang covering them--nice if it rains). Upper floors may have a slightly better view of Epcot fireworks.

I saw some pictures of a balcony above the Screendoor that a friend stayed in, and the view was excellent.

I always request top floor, usually get one of the upper floors. I prefer top floor because it's more quiet and you don't have the noise of the people above you.

It doesn't matter you will be at the Boardwalk and will have a great time.

We have been on the top floor many times and actually prefer it. Your view will not be obstructed in any way. You'll love it.

The solid wall balconies are also much larger than a normal balcony. We love them and always request these villas when we have a BW view villa.

We had one of those villas in May. The balcony was so large, we carried the table out there each morning and had breakfast out on the balcony. You can't see the boardwalk unless you stand up, but that was OK at breakfast time -- it gave us a bit of privacy. We could easily see over the solid railing so we had a view of BC/YC and Space Ship Earth during breakfast each morning.
