Have a great trip! Was it 5 days on the ship or a total of 5 days. I think it costs us more than that for our Disney trips, but we usually go 8 days. Great score using SW points. Our next trip, we are doing the same as far as flights. Was it a PIN offer or just an email about a sale offer to the public? I'm surprised they re discounting given the popularity of new sailing and people wanting to see the updated ship.

In all my excitement earlier, I had said the Magic. But it is the Wonder. The wonder will be on dry dock for about a week in Jan. I just talked to a
DCL cast member. She did say the Magic is being renovated and adding a aqua duck etc. Since I was on the dream June 2012 we have already experienced the BIG ship.
She did say that so Many cruisers love the smaller ships. She even upgraded us from ocean view room to deluxe with verandah for $100 more for 5 nights.
She's right! and that's a great price for an upgrade!!
We've done 14 Disney cruises and my entire family prefers the smaller ships. It's not just due to the difference in size, but mostly the # of passengers. The small ships can hold 2400, the large ships 4000. That's almost double. We've tried the Dream a few times and Fantasy once. That was enough.
For all of you saying it's so expensive, it's very similar in price to a WDW if you go while school is open if possible. We have days off in early Nov for a teachers' convention & Election day so for 2 missed days of school, we can sail for 7-nts during a very off-peak time of year. Summer & major holidays are triple the price.
Once onboard you can rebook a future cruise and get 10% discount plus an onboard credit of $100 for 3-6 nt cruises and $200 OBC for 7+ nights. Also our TA gives us $200 per cabin OBC just for booking with her. So for our Med cruise in Aug (2 cabins b/c our kids are teens) we got a total of $800 OBC. For Alaska last year we got $1100. (DCL used to give higher OBC amounts for gold & platinum cruisers.)
Anyway, once you book onboard you can change/postpone your sail date as often as you want as long as you do so before the final payment due date.
We book the cheapest 3 nt cruise we can find and just push it out as needed. Once I find a sail day we want, just switch to that date. We never, ever pay full price, except our first one.
