Hi

After spending 3 days reading this board, I decides to book our short trip (2 night) at POFQ.
But I still have question.

After reading how long people waited on the phone, I decided to book thru the web page (disneyworld.com) and when I received my email confirmation, I saw that the cancellation policy is 46 days prior to the trip and not 5 days, is this correct ? :(

I am used to stay at a value (ASMo and POP) but I decided to make a change this time. A couple of year ago, I stayed at CBR with my mom but we didn't like it because it was to wide spread; that why I choose POFQ this time.

I will be there with my parents and my father cannot walk to much.

Can you give me advise on witch building to choose. I'm sure that will use the boat often ? How far is POR (by walk) ? Is the pool to childish for 3 grown-up ?

Do you think I made the right decision (that my parents would love it). My parents think that I'm booking POP again.
:teeth:

Also any suggestion for a 70th birthday's diner (my father)
Thanks for any info

I thought that the cancellation policy for room only reservations was 5 days before your arrival date and that the packages were 45 days. Since you are only staying 2 nights, I am assuming you did not book a package.
You will like the POFQ it is a nice small resort with each building a close walk to the pool or main building. We stayed in building 3 and liked the location. I walked each day to the POR and it took me about 10 minutes at a brisk walk from our building to the main building at the POR. The pool is a nice size and we enjoyed it, and I'm, well let's say older.....
The boat only goes to the POR and DTD, but it is a nice relaxing trip.
You have alot of nice choices for dinner for your father, I would suggest Ohana at the Poly or even the Luau or the Hoopdedoo revue (depending on your budget)

I received my reservation confirmation paperwork from Disney in the mail yesterday, we're also staying at POFQ, and the paperwork said cancellation must be received no later than 5 days prior to arrival. This was for a room-only reservation I made, by the way.

Thank Helenk and Aimz for your responses. :bounce:

I haven't received a letter confirmation, but the cancelation policy was in the e-mail I received from Disney. Here is a cut and paste:
CANCELLATION POLICY:
In order to receive a full refund of your deposit, notification
of cancellation must be received at least 46 days prior to
your arrival date. To cancel or modify an existing reservation,
call (407) 939-7429. The cancellation and refund policy is
subject to change.

So Aimz did you got the same policy in you e-mail and then another cancellation policy in your letter ???

And Helenk, Ohana is a good choice (been there three time)an I have also been to the Luau, but on this trip I would have new experience, so any other idea for a restaurant.

Can wait to be there

I'm thinking that if you book on the web the ressie is automatically through WDTC and thus a package requiring the 45 day cancellation policy. No room only ressies--5 day cancellation-- can be booked on the website.

Hi, mmickeya. Did you make a package or room-only reservation? I made my room-only reservation over the phone with CRO, and not on the website, so they never emailed me anything regarding my reservation. The CM on the phone told me what the cancellation policy was- 5 days prior for room-only- and then when I got the letter, it repeated the same thing. My guess is that you have a package deal reserved, and so have a different cancellation policy than mine. Hang in there and see what your letter says when it arrives, see if it's the same as what your email said. It took nine days for me to receive my letter after making the phone reservation.

As dawgsgirl said, I have always heard if you book on the website you have the 45 day cancellation policy. I believe that's why most of us don't do it that way (because that would be easier than making long distance calls, lol). I'm very sorry that the website doesn't make that clear. Have fun.

I didn't know the policy for the web site. I tought that the policy was different only when we book a package. :(

I will cross my finger that I won't need to cancel.

I will know for next time ;)
