......have you been to see it yet?

We really enjoyed it :teeth: even DH LOL. Good fight seen with Darcy and Cleaver;)

Haven't seen it yet, but want to. Wasn't playing this weekend at our local theatre. Thanks for the recommendation however, we hope to see it soon!

Would you believe it Kaylee, but I saw some of the first Bridget Jones film today for the first time (I think I've been living in a cave for the past few years). I really enjoyed that and look forward to seeing the next film in 2006.

Well Goofyish (Tim) did say us Nuneatoners are s-l-o-w - LOL !!!

We are planning to see this in London (DD and I).~We just watched the first movie last eve!! Too funny! :p I've seen the clips of the FIGHT scene, and heard Colin describe it as, "Two men in their forties, whom do NOT know how to fight, but basically chasing each other about like little children." :teeth: Sounds Brilliant, I can hardly wait to see it!!

What's the verdict in comparison with the first one Kaylee & Alan? As funny? (Personally I didn't think the second book was quite as good as the first)

The frst film was laugh out loud funny!

We went to see it on Thursday. I enjoyed it, although I don't think the music was as good as the original.

Have to agree with you Kaylee about the fight scene.

I think the fact that BJ2 is SO similar to the original is one of its weaknesses, conversely, it is also its biggest strength as well!!! It is very much the same film, with a few sparky new locations! However, it is a format that works....we all know the characters, so no faffing around needed to establish them, its straight in this time.

I heard someone stuffy on breakfast telly this morning saying this film was "an insult to the masses" as its basically the first film wrapped in a slightly jazzier box. Thing is, how gutted would everyone have been, had the format been changed?! It DOES work, and may not be quite as good as the first to some, but its flipping funny and a good 2 hours spent in my opinion!

PS...What DO people see in that Colin Firth bloke? He is so wooden, he makes Hugh Grant appear talented!

Sigh. I just dont get the Colin thing. My Mum goes all gooey over him. Maybe he appeals to the older woman ;)

Allie runs very very fast away from this thread, ducking to avoid the rotten tomatoes thrown her way....

Never mind the fight in BJ2, I'd pay good money to see the fight between Cath and Allie !!!

 Can someone explain what an older woman is:eek:

mandymouse:earsgirl:

p.s. I thought Colin Firth looked cute in his snowman tie in BJ1

Any Colin Firth fan I think.............LOL

;)

Edited to add - if you check our profiles, you'll find out who the REAL older woman is..............;)

I consider myself a happily married woman to a (slightly-OK, maybe in my head) Colin Firth look a like-I can't get enough of that Colin-Love him in Bridget movie, in Love Actually, and SOOOO much more. But to each his own!:lovestruc

OK, Kaylee. I have a question about BJ2--in the book The Edge of Reason, Colin Firth appears as a character--himself--when Bridget goes to interview him. My question is--if Colin Firth is playing Mark Darcy, who is playing Colin Firth? Can't go see for myself--it hasn't opened here yet.

They have adapted the book for the film so no interview with Colin Firth in the film.

I read the book so long ago I had actually forgotton about that :)

I took Becky to see this on Saturday and we loved it:)
Yes it was very similar to BJ1 but still very funny.....even though renee Z irritates me no end at times with all those stupid screwed up face expressions!!!!

...and I looooooooove Colin Firth!......mmmmmmmmm espially as Mr Darcy in pride & prejudice;)

We saw the movie on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Colin Firth is, I think, meant to be wooden in these films - it is just so tongue in cheek! I loved the fact that in the first movie he was playing Darcy as this was just after the really popular Pride & Prejudice and I remember everyone in the cinema laughing when they heard his name.

There were a couple of scenes that were ridiculous, but that doesn't stop it being really good fun!
