cold and wet. christmas shopping is done for the most part, I still have to get a Michaels gift card for my momma. I was done shopping a week ago but DH insisted that the big gifts be from us and not "Santa". I had already wrapped them and put tags on them and put the clothes from us under the tree. I can't move presents they've already seen and I'm not allowing santa to bring clothes. So I had to go back to the store and get another toy for each of them from santa.

Kids took their annual pictures today, they looked so adorable.

Hey Goofy_Mom!! OK, would you rather I call you that or by your first name? I figure it's better to ask, lol.

I can't really remember which gifts were from Santa and which were from my parents. I think my mom just wrapped them at random. Or maybe the alst minute ones were from Santa. No idea. But I kind of like the idea that the bigger items are from the parents. Although it does sort of spoil the whole "Santa can do anything" mystery.

Speaking of Santa, my crazy uncle decided to dress up like Santa for the little kids at our Christmas party today. It was interesting. He couldn't remember the names of the reindeer and the when he changed he left his costume on the living room floor!! One little girl was like ... where is Santa and why doesn't he have his clothes on?

It's hard to really give a description of how crazy my uncle is. Let me just say I'm glad I'm not (a) blood related or (b) his daughter, lol. But we all love him dearly.

OK so that's probably the extent to my check in today. I'm exhausted and apparently it was up to the girl with no sleep to drive! I'm off to bed.

I have cards I bought a few years ago with the intension of sending them out. It never happened. I can't remember the last time I sent out a christmas card. That's probably why I don't get many of them. Usually by now I have a couple displayed somewhere, but we haven't received any this year.

Thanks Michele! I figure it was good enough sleep, especially since I went to bed so darn early! But that's what happens when you get off work at 6:30 in the morning, only to leave for a party a couple of hours later.

Our parties are a lot more subdued than they used to be, but I did walk away with the cutest ornament during our ugly ornament exchange which was pretty darn nice. And my Aunt had us play Christmas Bingo for candy prizes. We don't do gift exchanges anymore except for the little kids (right now there's only 3) although my dad has to buy stuff for everyone regardless.

Otherwise it was just nice to see everyone, listen to Christmas music, and eat good food! My uncle has perfected a candy cane cookie recipe he's been working on for a few years. MMMMMMM. Delicious.

Spreading out the shopping is usually the best way to do it. I try to, but it depends on how early I can find gifts for everyone! I try to do mine all year long and then hope that I don't lose the gifts before Christmas.

Oh man, so for everyone in the know about my car situation ... They came back for it again!!

Here's how I know ...

I was on my way out to my car this am to go have my usual Monday morning breakfast with Nameless and I get to my car and it was unlocked. Go figure. I know I locked it when I got home from work early Sunday morning. When I look inside the towel I left on my drivers seat was now in the back, there's a strange umbrella that does not belong to me (or my family who currently don't have a key to my car anyway) sitting in the passenger seat, and it smells oddly like cigarettes and something else again.

But hey, at least my car is still here. Looks like that club thing we got for the brake did it's job for now.

Belle, The recipe is super easy and she ahs pictures as well to help you as you go along. It is not a complicated recipe at all.

I am glad that your car is back and that they are not able to take it again. Have you thought of maybe putting up a webcam or something like that at night and point it at your car. Maybe you can catch who it is. I guess they really like your car.

Oh man, it isn't even funny how bad of a cook I am. I find the best way to mess up any recipe, regardless of what it is. It's a running joke in my family. Some people just aren't meant for the kitchen, and I sure am one of them. I'm sure practice would make my food at least edible

We have, but the problem is where I live we only have street parking and half of the time where I have to park isn't visible from our house, especially in the case of last night. It's part of what has surprised us that it took so long for anything to happen to my car as we've been living here with the same parking for as long as I have had the car (going on 6 years in a couple of months).

I wish I knew why they keep targeting my car. I'm hoping it was just a case of it being so easy to steal and they knew where to get the car since they stole it from in front of our house to begin with (during one of the very few times I actually got to park directly in front of our house). I'm hoping that know that they know we've got some kind of theft prevention in the car they'll stay away for good now, but who knows.
