the ticks are still out in full force in Maine....the warm weather and the rain we have had .....makes the ticks want to stay around......so be careful outdoors and on your kids and pets too......

We live in Maine. My DH is going to the DR's tomorrow because he has a bulls eye on his hip. Pulled off a deer tick last night. Its the worset I have ever seen. In fact I am going to call the ER now

wow.....hope it is okey.....I went hunting last week and they were out in full force......same with my niece today...she had four on her and some on her dog

i had a bullseye from an infected tick bite a few years ago. i went to the doctor, got a month's worth of antibiotics and have been fine ever since. :) i'm sure your dh will be fine as long as he gets to the doctor and gets some antibiotics.

I pulled a tick off our dog a couple of days ago and was so surprised. I thought the season was over. He has been protected by frontline up until now. We live on a greenbelt in a very wooded area and my kids are in them daily. Seems our area is worse than ever. My sister titer tested positive twice for lymes in the past year.

Are we safe after the first frost? Thanks for the reminder!

the vet said to get the frontline stuff for another month.....cause this is an unusual fall ....no frosts to kill everyone off yet..
I had chigger bite last week and it itches still like crazy.......those are usually gone by this time of the year......I went hunting and they sneak up on you

We've had alot of ticks lately too, here in Mass. Frontline wears off after about 3 weeks on my dogs. Advantix is even worse. My BF is a tick magnet. He's been hunting in Maine for 10 days and is on his way home. I'll have to have the :magnify: on him before he gets in bed tonight. :rotfl:

The ticks have been unbelievable this year. I find them on the cats on a daily basis. My dog does not get as many. Unfortunately we find them on us too. GROSS! What I really find disgusting is when I pull off a larger tick only to find that the tick has a tiny tick of its own. YUCK. Horrible little creatures.

Came back to tell you I just pulled another tick off my cat. It was dead thanks to Frontline.

even if you dont live in the country part.......birds bring ticks in and drop them in yards.......BELIEVE ME.......I live in the city with a back yard

Ummmm, hate to say it, but just got another one off the cat. :sad2:

WOW!!

About 2 or 3 days ago I found a big fat tick on the floor in our hallway, where our dog likes to lay during the day. It had clearly fallen off of her, I was a bit perplexed that a tick had hung on since the summer but sort of shrugged it off...I have never ever seen one this late! And we have had a few frosts here in northern mass...I truly thought this one had been hanging on for dear life for 3 or 4 months1!!! :rotfl:

My sisters dog had one in PA this weekend and they have had snow already. What is amazing is this is a 14 yr old Golden that needs a ramp to get outside and help back in the door so he is in the yard about 5 minutes at a time! They must be terrible this year.

my sister just called her vet and got the meds for her dog and cat to last a few more weeks......the vet said this is an unusual year......so take care of your pets everyone ...
