Just Back!

It is Monday night and we just got back from a week at POR. I will write more tomorrow and get a trip report and dining review started. Feel free to ask away. We hit all four parks in 4 days, then rested for three days. We saw a lot and really did not wait to much. The heat was a lot to handle and the rain did not stop us but got us wet. It was me my dh, my parents and a disney rookie, my best friend (28). We did Magical Express and park hopped. Early entry to MK and MGM, but no extra evening hours. We ate at the Norway Princess Breakfast, did the Animal Kingdom snack deal, The Plaza restaurant at MK, Cape May Cafe and OHana's and some counter service.

I also just got back last night.
Weather was HOT HUMID and some rain too. On Saturday while at AK it rained off and on for most of the time we were there. And it was so humind and hot that wearing a poncho made you sweat. That was also the day that tropical storm Arlene was passing thru. It also rained on Sunday, off and on. You could walk into a show with it not raining and walk back out with it downpouring. On Sunday at 8:55 pm they canceled the 9 pm showing of SpectroMagic at MK and you should of seen the people already lined up to watch it. It was not raining hard at that point but just drizzling enough to keep the roads wet and the ponchos on. They did Wishes at 10 and I'm not sure if they had a 11 pm Spectro or not.

Crowds were ok, if you had a plan. MGM was packed for Star Wars stuff but the rest of the park was ok. At one point around 2:30 pm On Sunday the line for Great Movie Ride was HUGE>>>>they were using the rope area on the right side of the building. It had to be at least a 75 minute wait. We did the Animation Studio Tour (te building between Little Mermaid and JoJo Circus) and it was very interesting. I had never done it before so I can not compare it to the old version. At the end of it you can learn to draw a character, we drew Poohs face. Not that hard with the directions given but I need practice...Poohs face was a bit out of shape.

We stayed at POP and the food court was crowded for dinner on Sat because of the rain I bet. It was a short trip but alot of fun.

The breakfast was really nice. We saw Snow White, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Jasmine. I thought the characters moved on quickly, compared to other character meals we have done. THe food was hot, ample, and good. We got seated early, our time was 8:50 but we were seated by 8:40. Good service. I would probably try another breakfast before going back unless my dd wanted to go there.

I just got back yesterday too! It was hot and rained a bunch but I didn't care.

I also had a standard room at AKL and as soon as they looked me up they said I had a complimentary upgrade to a Savannah room! I never stayed in one and it was great. So relaxing!

I gotta say one thing about Soarin'. the first two times I went on it, we got the front row. It was really great.

The third time we got the last row. I didn't care bout seeing feet above me. But what I really didn't like was seeing the bottom of the screen so much. It really took us out of the experience. Seemed like poor planning. But I still had fun.

I have to say, being in the parks for 10 days.. getting up and driving to a park and doing rides and stuff all day long is something I really got used to! On the way back I was so depressed to have to go back to the real world of working and making my own bed and meals and cleaning!
