Just got back today and we had some fantastic meals. We ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse, O'Hana, Biergarten, Palio, Shulas, Jiko, and Reastaurant Marrekesh, if anyone has any questions, I'd be gald to answer. Aside for O'Hana we only made our PS late afternoon each day.

Welcome back, how did you enjoy your dining experience at Shula's?Thank you in advance for sharing. :flower: :goodvibes :wizard:

Dining at Shulas was great. We were a party of 7 including 3 children aged 13, and we all loved our meal. Our waiter was great, he was funny and everyone was very accomodating. The kids loved that the menu came printed on a football. Then our server did a menu presentation by bringing a cart out with all of their cuts of meat on it and the vegetables they serve too. DH and I and one of my DS got the filet mignon and it was one of the best I have ever had, and the others agreed. My other DS had the NY strip and he loved that too (he is trying to get us to go to Shulas in NYC now  ). Our friends had the NY strip and the Cowboy Steak which is a ribeye, and their DD had the filet. They all said it was the best steak they ever had. The only thing I wish I knew ahead of time was that sauteed mushrooms and peppers, (separate, not together) were served on the plate, so I didn't need to order a separate vegetable. I am not a very big eater and what came on the plate was perfect for me. I shared DS's salad, which was good too. And the Creme Brulee was very good and quite large.

Sounds like you really enjoyed Shulas. :) How would you compare it to YSH?

CamColt, we really enjoyed both restaurants very much, and would eat at both again. DH and I had the filet mignon at both and would say that they were both excellent. I guess I would have to say Shulas was a little better. We were with the same group of 7 for both, DS had the filet at both and says Shulas was definitely better, the others in the group had different selections to make it hard to compare that way. Shulas is a more elegant setting and YSH seems casual in comparison. We did sit at a window table at YSH which was nice. All in all if you are watching your money, YSH is a better value, about half the price of Shulas, and an excellent restaurant too.

How was Marrekesh and Biergarten? We will be trying both of these in May. Any recommendations from either?

Thanks!

Disneyglobegirl, The Biergarten is a favorite of ours and we usually try to go each trip, it is a buffet so there are a lot of choices. My DH refuses to eat at buffets, but this is the only one that he will go to. We had our friends with us and he also does not like buffets, we sort of dragged them here and they ended up loving this restaurant. I really like the Sauerbraten, Bratwurst, spatzle, potato dumplings and all that sort of "traditional" German dishes so that is what I stick to. Our friends really liked what I already mentioned and the fish and roasted pork. My DS's really like the pretzel bread too. The cheesecake and black forest cake are really delicious too. DH was disappointed that they do not have Becks any more, he was looking forward to the Octoberfest beer, which they usually still have in Feb. They now have Lowenbrau.

At Marrekesh I really like the Beef Brewat rolls as an appetizer and everyone else agreed too. We got two of the combo appetizers which also included the chicken basitlla and jasmina salad. Everyone agreed that the chicken was good, but the brewat rolls were better, and we all liked the jasmina salad. For dinner members in our party got chicken shish kebob, beef shish kebob, chicken couscous, and lemon chicken. Everyone really liked the beef kebobs more than the chicken, I had the chicken couscous which was good, but my 2nd piece of chicken was a little dry, and DS loved the lemon chicken. Also if you get the shish kebob, you can replace the rice with couscous, which I like better than the rice.

Thanks for the comparison. We have been to YSH and LOVED it, but never to Shulas, thats why I was curious.
