Just back from BWV stayed over the 4th in 1 bedroom #2022 looking at the clown at the pool everyday!(LOL) Just some minor thoughts on our stay, The bus transportation to the parks ,I know this is a sore subject but something needs to be done ASAP! 45mins on a bus with two children under 4 from AK is a joke! We stayed at the ASM for 3 days and never and I stress NEVER waited more then 10min. for a bus! Just don't understand this problem. I made my ressies at the 11 month window and #1 request was Boardwalk view and that didn't happen, I think given the 11 month window they can at least give us some notification as to where the room location is. Really that is the only beef I had this trip on the up side the Cape May Cafe Clam bake is SWEET!!! Two thumbs up, I would highly recommend eating there as well as Spoodles Breakfest buffet which also is really really nice! The walkway to MGM takes about 10min. and is well lit up at night. aslo I don't know if there has been any talk of this but there is now more free valet at the BWV there is a 6.00 charge and it shows up on your bill at checkout. Another perk that is removed for Vaction members!:(

Sorry about the problems. I too have had "bus issues" at WDW. That is why we always have a car now.
As for the valet, I was under the understanding that it was still free for DVC members at all the DVC resorts. Is that not true?

Thanks,
Kamy

It should be free to DVC Members. Below is from the member's website:

As of July 16, 2001, the Walt Disney World® Resort will adopt a standard industry practice and charge for valet parking at all Walt Disney World Resort locations that offer this guest service. The $6.00 fee (among the lowest in the market) is a daily charge, so once you have paid for valet service, you will receive unlimited valet parking for the remainder of the day. However, Disney Vacation Club Members
will not be charged for valet parking at Disney's BoardWalk Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge, regardless of where they are staying. Disney Vacation Club Members must show their DVC Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID indicating that they are a "DVC Member" when leaving their vehicle to be parked in order to receive this service at no charge at either Disney's BoardWalk Resort or Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Members will be charged for this service at any other valet parking operation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Whether or not you are charged to valet park, gratuities are still appropriate. There will be no charge for guests with disabilities with the proper permits. This charge only affects guests and Members who chose to use this service.

So you need to show your membership card for this service.

If you book at 11 months and can't get a guaranteed BW view, I guess that is another reason to save the points and get a standard view!

As a DVC member, I don't understand how you were charged the valet fee, especially on your hotel bill since they KNOW in the computer system that you are a member. Even if they say that you have to show your member card, you have the parking pass on your dashboard indicating membership. Showing the card should not be necessary. I suspect that you can and SHOULD get these fees back if you request them since they just instituted this new policy and thus you were not aware of the need for showing your card unless there was something in your Welcome package describing the policy change. I doubt that they will argue the point.

Actually we were told by the bellhop when we got our bags about the charge , I guess I should have checked more into it. I think we were charged twice if so I'll call MS. All in all we had a great time I just wish that the bus problem could be fixed I would imagine when BCV are done that would be another stop to make prior to BWV. That would make the trip from AK at least 1hr.

AS to the buses...Since each resort contracts individually with the buses, it is determined by what the resort is will to pay and obsorb. OKW had an issue with this for years since they are farther out. Now buses seem to do quite well at OKW. I think your annual resort meeting should be a place for that issue to be brought up.

Master Grayson,
I am sure if you contact DVC they will refund your money. We were charged for the health club and they refunded it.
I am curious as to how you were billed, was it 6.00 per day or was it 6.00 each day that you used the service? Example, If you park on Tues. but don't use the car again until Fri was it a 6.00 charge or was it 24.00, (6.00 per day.)
Thanks
